so seems like we have interest/offers out there for 3 guys of a similar mold:
Wesley Alcegaire
Austin Burnette
Malik Constantine
All 3 are the 6'6ish WF players who are versatile, athletic, can score, play D, rebound, and run the floor well - guess JM really wants to add a guy like that to this class - makes sense as they fit into JM's system beautifully
Still MUST pull a major talent in the 6'9ish range - do that and this class can be killer

This is not the final list. There are about 500 nominees.

Anyone know how many scholarships are left for this class?

Assuming we are fully funded we get 13. Next year we have
Sr - Green, Tanksley, Nichols, Djambo
JR - Bernardi, Robinson
Soph - Gonzalez, Gustys, Walker
Fr - Buie, Wright-Foreman
So, I think we still have 2 open spots. Of course walkups are always open. I am 90% sure about the # of scholarships HU offers....someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So I think one is going to Burnette, the other im not sure of hopefully a big man. I'm almost 100% positive we don't get Trent as he has been recruited by many high major schools. Unsure of Alceigaire but I think it's him or Burnette not both.

seems like many coaches don't hesitate to keep one spot open for surprises (i.e. unforseen transfers) like Djambo or the guy that went to Manhattan that we tried to get. If you don't have a real need to fill it, its not a bad strategy just in case.
Another big recruiting year next year as we will be losing 4 seniors.

nice video of Buie and his buddy. It is a little concerning to see how slightly built Buie is. Certainly hopes he puts on some pounds between now and next season (unless he's soooo fast nobody can touch him!)

A redshirt year in the weight room and at the buffet table should cure that.

Stu he's not coming to Hofstra to redshirt. He will be Green's understudy next season and start as a soph.

50 years ago (hard for me to believe) we had a pretty good guard whose nickname was 'bones'. If this kid comes close to him I would be pleased.

I'm curious about the various scouting groups that rate high school or JUCO players. i've noticed that somtimes the rating changes over time. For instance, Walker had always been rated a 3 star recruit and yet now he shows up as a 2.7 (a least on the "verbal commits" website). Are ratings, especailly for HS players, adjusted for instance at the end of each playing season? Is it done randomly? or is it just that more rating groups offer a rating and hence the average of ratings changes (maybe that whats happened with Walker....if ESPN [which rated him a 2 star] lated him late in the game, his other 3 star ratings would have been lowered to an average of 2.666 or 2.7).
i think everyone out there seems to agree that we may have gotten a steal regarding JWF. He is currently rated a 2 star. At the end of this season could his be re-rated and upped???

well as we know rankings are of course subjective and can vary greatly in meaning/interpretation based on how each service does their evaluations
I do believe that many services do a sort of pre and post season ranking of players, so it's common that players can be either up or down graded at times - I also believe that services will magically adjust their rankings (up or down) based on the level of program a player commits to - this is my own personal opinion based on what I've seen - as I call it, my humble yet very accurate opinion!
Additionally, it seems common that once a player commits he becomes much less of a priority for services to watch, analyze, re-rank, etc. The focus is really on uncommitted players, so if you're looking at an early commit the reports/rankings/analysis may be off or less info than hoped for...
I have seen ALL of the above over the years following HU basketball and VT football recruiting as closely as a fan can.

Also once a player commits to a mid major it always seems like their rating goes down.
