Is Coburn a Jr. or a Sr. I've seen him listed in various places as both. Will he be back next year?

Technically he has one more year. However , if he graduates, he may be able to be a graduate transfer I believe.
We have received players on that basis I don't remember losing players under this route. I don't remember if Jamall Robinson, the recruit that Coach Mihalich brought from Niagara ultimately was a grad transfer out of HU or not, but he landed at LIU I think.

I don't think Coburn will go anywhere...he will be one of the key players next year.

Robinson was an original JAM recruit that came to HU and started every game as a freshman; and progressively played less and less (including a redshirt year) - he was a grad transfer to LIU and played without having to sit out

Agree on TC staying - he's is playing like the go-to right now, and will likely be such next yr - will be his team IMO, along w/Ray, to lead. And shine.

We just offered per v/c Mardrez McBride a Juco who was playing at McCook Community College which is in Nebraska. This kid is from Georgia and is a PG but looking at his video he could be a combo guard. A high flyer who likes to finish above the rim and of course is a lefty!! I got this off the internet

Mardrez McBride, a 6-2 guard from Augusta, Ga., was 10th in the region in scoring with 14.1 points a game, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He shot 43.7 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from the 3-point line and 80.6 from the free-throw line.

This is a position that we need to pay particular attention to after Buie leaves and could be a big void if Burgess is not ready to start.

Mnbride only 1.6 assts a game Thats a red flag for a point guard

Looked at his video, he's very athletic, quick and can really jump at 6-3. I would see him as more of a combo guard...although one who looks to pass...the tape did not show much of his ball handling skills except on fast breaks where he can really get out in front of the defense and finish strong at the basket; usually a dunk.

He would be a good addition, esp. that he will be a sophomore with plenty of playing time under his belt.

Agree triplec. We also offered another JUCO guard a week or two ago, but he just committed to Miss State. Definitely looks like the staff wants to have a little insurance policy for next year. Probably a good move.

Yup you guys are right on the money!

Check out another kid we offered, Noah Hutchins a 3 star currently playing for the IMG Academy....hearing good things!

Without a doubt Cards an insurance policy but we also need someone who can split time at the point because we don't know how many minutes we will get from Caleb. I'm of the belief that Silverio can play the point from what I've seen he can put the ball on the floor. My opinion don't know what the powers that be say re this. Stu I wouldn't read that much into his assists this kid looks like a shooter and we don't know what his role is on this team. It would be helpful to see what his numbers looked like in H.S.

I've looked at this kid Hutchins and his 19 suitors on V/C. What a great addition he could be and he's from Trueheart country and also another great guard that came from the Buffalo area Loren Stokes. This would be interesting but maybe a bit of a long shot we'll have to wait and see. I think this is our biggest need looking to next year and that's no knock on Caleb who I think is going to be good for us but we need a second PG.

As I've said in the past, I would be all in on Hutchins. Kid looks like the real deal! My guess is that he will be a tough guy to get - he's got lots of suitors (including a bunch that we likely don't even see on verbal commits).

Kinda reminds me a little of Mac McClung. Not a big kid but, very fast, explosive, tremendous hops. We offered, as did others, he ended up at Georgetown.

Hope they had some recruits at the game yesterday!!!

And I will take darn near any kid from IMG ... Hutchins would be a huge get. Don’t you tease me HUSID!

Researched this a bit further and his senior year stats showed that he only had 1.7 assists per game and averaged 18.7 points. He was a very respectable rebounder getting 6.1 per game. Apparently a kid who would rather shoot then dish it. This could be a cause for concern.

Looks like we're going after a few bigs; we offered 6-9 shot blocker Ibrahima Jarjou, who's 225 pounds...many mid majors have offered including Iona.

We also offered Xavier Valley, a 6-7 180 pounder who has some interesting offers including VCU.

Sounds like they might have a potential transfer out since almost all their offers for the last spot to date have been to point guard types.

Wouldn't PG be our biggest need if no one transfers out? Maybe you could say a 3 but I think Coburn will slide down to that spot and Trueheart/Cramer will play the 4.

5- Kante, Schutte, and Hughes (or you could put Hughes at the 4)0
4 - Trueheart, Cramer, and Green
3-2 - Coburn, Ray, Silverio, Miranda, and Bethea
1- Burgess

So even if you assume limited to no playing time for Hughes and Miranda I would still say PG is the biggest need.

Both Schutte and Trueheart could leave and be eligible right away somewhere else...you never know.
