I only got to catch a bit of the Saturday games, but from what I can tell, this was a bit of a reality check? Maybe some conscious vengeance towards JMU in the tourney hopefully?

It definitely was for the pitchers. The rest of the team played well, I thought. Put up 10+ hits in every game. Had the lead in all three games. Didn't commit an error all weekend. What more can you ask for from your team?

No I have no idea why the game was cancelled. Back to the games this weekend. I told you all that a JMU was a mirror image of us. We were not that much better than Jmu even though they had two conference losses coming in. My concern is with Sara Cornell. She relied on her rise ball that seems to little movement now. That adjustment has to be made if she is to be effective. My concern is to see how our pitchers bounce back against a good hitting Towson team

I have to imagine it's so the pitchers can get some rest, as well as not hurt the RPI any more than it already is. Rutgers has a .328 winning percentage this year. It hurts not having that third option for a pitcher. When these two are bad, there's nothing else behind them. Going back to the Amy Belonick/Jo Kralowetz days, that one inning reliever that just changes what the hitters are seeing.

AJ was Kralowitz nickname Bronco? She had a great drop pitch

Yup. And yes, she did. She really only had three pitches- a drop, a fastball (softball pitchers generally do not throw fastballs) and a high drop that we sort of created.

http://www.gohofstra.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=241 but yeah, this would be clutch to have as a third prong.

After the Stony Brook win and three losses, our RPI moved up 1 spot. I wonder how often a team has their polls and RPI move in opposite directions in three consecutive weeks like Hofstra has.

This would be huge for Hofstra- biggest conference rival losing their head coach could be big.

Didn't they stick an interim tag on an assistant after Mickey Dean left for Auburn? Could be a technicality to have the posting before they remove the tag, unless the school is planning on cleaning house for the program.

Really bad loss to Towson today.

Two more home runs given up in the first game. This is getting ugly for them. Even if they are able to get I to the tournament, top teams are going to go to town on this.

Rather than make the trip back to NY from Maryland, and then back down to Virginia a few days later, the team has stayed down south. They spent yesterday going on a sightseeing tour of DC, and are back at it practicing today.

I'm glad we have budget for that since going back and forth would have been nuts travel wise!

I don't know, I heard the team has had to cut out one day bus trips out, so that seems unlikely.

Hofstra leads 8-5 after 5 innings and there's a lightning delay.
