And yet they haven't pitched around her. Yesterday on her 2nd at bat she almost hit her second home run in the same place center field. She's very deceptive.

Was at the game today and clearly this was going to be a close game. Venturini was taken out in the 3rd had 2 outs but I thought had trouble locating her fastball for strikes. Was starting to get hit on her off speed pitches. Julia APSEL PITCHED WELL AND HAD 5 k'S but she was let down by bad defense. She gave up 5 runs but only 2 were earned. Giordano made 3 errors in this game and Collins and Iopollo made 1 each. We could have won this game but all those unearned runs came back to hurt us as we lose 8-6. Giordano hits her 8th home run in the 6th inning a three run shot to bring us within 1 but Mullin gives up a run in the 7th and we lose by 2.

It was cold BTW even with the sun out.

We beat Howard today on the road 5-3 Pisapia gets the win pitching 5 innings and giving up 2 runs. Mullin gets the save. Giordano hits her ninth home run of the year. It's practically one a game now. Kudos To Meghan.

So today we went to Howard university and won by a score of 5 to 3

We wasted several good scoring opportunities, and for the second game in a row had a runner thrown out of the plate
Still win is a win, and this prepares us for this weekend conference game against North Carolina A&T

IDK if Malinowski was actually thrown out at the plate but if she was that would beg the question as to why someone didn't come in to run for her??

Today we beat North Carolina, A, & T 8-0
Hailey Venturini was one out away from a perfect game. She settled for a one hitter with 12 strikeouts.

IDK anything about NCA&T probably not a very good team but we dominate them and what can you say about Venturini. When she's on her game she's a very impressive pitcher who's going to get a lot of strikeouts. 13 hits in this game and we continue to show as a team we can hit the ball. We're 6-1 in the CAA and that's what's important more then anything right now. Lets sweep the doubleheader tomorrow and become 8-1.

We lose the first game of this doubleheader 5-2. Mullin only pitches a third of an inning and gives up 3 runs on 3 hits. We only get 3 hits. We're winning the 2nd game 4-3 after trailing 3-0. We score 4 runs in the 5th inning. We're hitting in the top of the 6th. Apsel is on the mound. Was a bit wild walking 4 but seems to have settled down.

We're now winning 7-3 after a couple of hits and another Giordano 2 run Home run. She's on a tear.

We wind up losing the second game by a score of 8 to 7 what I don’t understand is Coach Clark leaving Aspel in the entire game. It was obvious she was losing it. I would have replaced her after we took a 7 to 3 lead. now was Venturini hurt. What did she lose all faith in Mullen to complete the game was there nobody else who could have pitched

Please find this out Stu probably post presser should address this. Apsel according to the announcer had thrown 120 + pitches didn't have much in the tank. I would love to know why Venturini didn't come in to get the last 3 outs and maybe pitch in the 6th inning. There's no way we should have lost that 2nd game.

Playing in the rain etc. today we lose to Fordham 2-1. Mullin gives up 2 runs on 5 hits 1 K and a walk and takes the loss Pisapia pitches 2 innings and gives up no runs. Conspicuously absent in this game was Giordano and she's been on a home run tear. Alanna Morse played s.s. and that's where she will be following the graduation of Giordano. Tough loss as we had the tying run on 3rd base in the 7th.

Went to the 1st game of this doubleheader against Towson. Apsel pitched a good game and Giordano went yard again hitting a two run dinger. We walk off winning 9-1. Brianna Morse also goes yard. We had 12 hits and made 2 errors.

We lose the second game as we go into the 6th inning with a 5-3 lead and a couple of errors by Alanna Morse help them with a few unearned runs. We make three errors in this game allowing a total of 4 unearned runs. Final score 12-5. Ogden comes in and pitches the 7th inning giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and only gets one out. She has to be relieved by Anna Butler who strikes out 3 and gives up a hit with no runs. Just wondering why we haven't seen Venturini since her masterpiece 1 hit game against NCA&T?? Today hopefully!

Caught this game today which was very competitive and entertaining. Julia Apsel after getting the win yesterday in the first game was back in the circle starting this game. She had runners on base pretty much every inning but worked her way out with the help of some good defensive play. As the game went on it was obvious that she was done and we needed to go to the bullpen . Coach waited too long and Apsel gave up back to back Home runs then she went to the pen. They scored two runs in the 5th to take the lead and we came back to score two in the bottom of the 5th thanks to bad D from Towson. Nikki Mullin asked to pitch 2 innings couldn't do it giving up runs in the 7th after walking the leadoff hitter. It's becoming very obvious that without Venturini who must be hurt we're a very average team. Venturini could put us over the top as she's our best pitcher who is a strike out pitcher but her status is unknown?? We lose 8-6 and drop 2 of 3.

Hey guys, Newsday just listed their top 100 softball players. One is coming to Hofstra, most don't have destinations and many are going to D 2 and 3.

Also note they're all position players not ONE PITCHER. Right now we have 22 players on the roster and 7 of those players are from Long Island. We seem to recruit heavy from Bellmore and Mineola.

Their softball coach is Krista Thorn who played both softball and soccer for us
