2 videos on Newsday's website. They were filmed during practiced today, and Moussa appears to be fully practicing with the rest of the team. I didn't see Rokas, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there, since only Brian Bernardi and Juan'ya Green are interviewed, besides JAM.

Excellent - love seeing this type of coverage of the team. Also love seeing Kone on the court. Watched teh videos and yes, he appearrs to be moving around as if he is ready for game play. It would be great if he can play some minutes this Saturday.

Warren Nolan's site has week by week RPIs starting with Week 5 of each season and going back to Jenkins' junior season in 2009-2010. Hofstra's RPI is currently 163rd, and in the 32 weeks of Jenkins' last two seasons that Warren Nolan's site has RPIs for, Hofstra had a better RPI than they do now in 27 of those weeks, but Hofstra didn't get any AP Poll votes in any of those weeks. Assuming Hofstra didn't get any poll votes in 2007-2008, 2011-2012, 2012-2013, or 2013-2014 when they were bad, here are the last five times Hofstra got AP Poll votes:

February 12, 2007
November 13, 2006
November 6, 2006 (34th in the preseason poll and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the highest Hofstra has ever gotten)
February 6, 2006
January 23, 2006

Hofstra's RPI is 42 spots worse than 121st place Wyoming, who is the next worst team receiving poll votes.

I'd certainly take a trip to Pittsburgh for this:

I wasn't shocked at Bracketology as we have the best record in the CAA. . . I was SHOCKED we got an AP vote.

3 game week this week - 2-1 or better is a MUST

like I said, SOS is meaningless this yr, just keep winning, keep gaining national attention, and parlay that into recruiting to build a mid major power program

THAT is what this staff and player foundation is all about IMO

The VCU's, ODU's, Witchita St's, etc were all just like HU not that long ago... It is entirely possible and entirely doable for HU to build something similar in terms of success over the next 10 years with the right focus, commitment, and strategy

Always agreed with Wright that HU is a sleeping giant due primarily to it's location - it's absolutely perfect for recruiting and media, and HU is RIPE to take full advantage and make that kind of improvement with the right leadership...aka JM, Speedy, and staff

From your lips to Gods ears - I would love that.

The worst part about finally being good this year is that St. John's and Seton Hall are stealing all the thunder (even if Wright and his boys crushed them last night).

St. John's is in trouble...they have no depth and their second best player likes to take time off....Seton Hall is in New Jersey...if St. John's falters and we continue with our success we will be fine.

We're back on top of One Bid Wonder's CAA Power Rankings. Northeastern slipped to 4th with their bad loss to UNCW. http://www.onebidwonders.com/2015/01/07 ... nkings-v6/

Yeah, I actually don't see the improvement of SJU or SHU being really bad for HU at all right now - I used to feel that way a long time ago, but over the years mid majors have proven their worth beyond what was ever thought possible, and now have become a legitimate place for top talent, and I think HU is right there in that mix

HU is a program on the rise BIG TIME, and they are on a fast track in doing so - if they continue on an upward trajectory, gain some national attention in the dance, then it's just a matter of time before a true 4 star major player comes this way, and I think once that door opens, it's off to the races for this program.

Polito that is why I want all our local teams to do well except when they play Hofstra. It creates a buzz that has been missing a long time from the Ny area, Not just Newsday but if the News and the Post pick up on it it just benefits Hofstra that much more. Do you remember the buzz when we played St Johns at the Mack?
