The statistics have not started yet.

Northeastern trails 35-27 at halftime at Colgate. Charleston at Liberty starts soon. The CAA is 1-6 nonconference against Division I, which is 26th of 31 conferences in winning percentage. The NCAA does not start the NET immediately, and the RPIs start out low. The Conference RPI has a tie for first at .3403. .5000 is average, and the SEC led at .5971 last season.

Delaware lost 71-62 hosting non-Division I Wilmington (Delaware). With them and Western Michigan last night, Division I teams lost to non-Division I teams twice in under 24 hours.

Edit: The statistics started. We are starting Patterson, Edmead, Plotnikov, Sunday, and Davis. Iona is starting Keshawn Williams, C.J. Anthony, Kosy Akametu, Denver Anglin, and Lamin Sabally.

We started by allowing a 3.

Northeastern came back to win 68-65 at Colgate. Northeastern led 11-2, but blew it, and trailed 35-27 at halftime. Colgate led 61-53 at the timeout with 3:49 left, and Northeastern ended on a 15-4 run. Youri Fritz, whose brother Jacco played one season for us, made the winning shot with 19 seconds left. He led all players with 21 points.

Liberty leads Northeastern 46-38.

Wow this is… awful. I’ve already had enough of Sunday, less than two games in.

Iona came out like gangbusters for their new coach. We just need to relax and slow down... playing like we're at Duke or something. Comical

Wasn’t Speedy going to emphasize defense? Not at all prepared for this game. Came in complacent. As usual, killed by 3s

Iona hitting 52 percent of their shots. Just awful. Terrible coaching.

Cruz is having a MISERABLE game. Goes up with zero conviction.... and in person you really notice how often he plays with his head down. We probably brick the shots anyway, but Cruz has missed at least 5 would be assists to wide open teammates when he drives into traffic.

Edmead on the other hand, TERRIFIC player. What a stud

I’d like to know what Speedy does to get his team ready to start a game. Does everyone get a sleeping pill and a tranquilizer?

If you watch the postgame interview, Speedy takes no responsibility for what happened. Did he make it to the game as a spectator?Sorry to say, but Speedy may be the problem here. Any thoughts?

Right here I believe we retain Preston as Speedy has close ties to his family. I said he could be a special player and Speedy reiterated that in his post presser. These kind of players you can't afford to lose in this new basketball world.

Too much blame put on the coaches here and credit to Speedy calling a quick timeout in the beginning of the game. It apparently didn't help as we let them get out to a quick lead. Sunday's POOR D and subsequent benching helped this along with German sitting with two quick fouls. Then you add Cruz' off shooting day and turnovers into the mix you realize the players are to blame not the coaching staff. They didn't come out with the resolve they needed but played better in the second half outscoring Iona by 9 points in spite of our poor FT shooting 18/27.

I actually didnt mind what Speedy said here. Hes right, Cruz needs to be a LOT better if he's gonna be the go-to guy for this team. And they did get punked to start

But you are right though Speedy never seems to take the accountability to just say starts with coaching I didnt have the team ready to play on nights when it goes like this. And it has gone like this far too often under Speedys tenure.

The big picture concerns through 2 games for me:

1. This team cant shoot (Biggie and DeCady should not be standing on the perimeter waiting to chuck 3s). Most infuriating thing about Speedys tenure to me is forcing their tweener bigs to play as true wings on offense when its not their strengths

2. Fouls. They've committed over 50 fouls in 2 games, and Speedy said in the presser fouls were a problem in the scrimmages too?! Obviously cant win like that

3. Turnovers. 28 assists/27 turnovers in 2 games. That isnt gonna work either

Total Embarassment! We came out with doe eyes and they came out on fire! What was Cruz doing? If I didn't know better I would say he is still getting Iona NIL money!
On the other hand Edmead is a baller and Vistory needs to sart instead of the human statue Silas...we will need to fine SOMEONE on the roster who can come in for Cruz when he plays so poorly.
Let's hope this game was an aberration as I think we have a pretty good roster this year.

Agree with Victory starting depending what the matchup is. We've seen time and time again Silas getting schooled by quicker players who can shoot beyond the perimeter. DeCady playing way out of position he's looks very uncomfortable at the 4 and can't shoot three's. As much as most of us drank the kool-aid I'm not sure we have very much depth since you have 5 players not seeing the floor with Lopez out also with a torn ACL. Where's the freshman Roberts, Amir Williams after redshirting last year, Alex, Trey Boyd and Brandon Morgan. Why haven't these players seen the floor? We should get a look at some of these players in the Molloy game!

Plus the Gaels were stoked for their first home game and their first game under a new coach. They are also an athletic team with multiple slams and putbacks, and drove through our porous defense at will.

Also, why not give some of the players who did not start a few minutes to see what they could do? I thought #2 AJ Wills gave us a lift vs. UCF. And #11 Amir Williams, who sat all of last year, will be out of here in a flash if he doesn't see the court.
