It makes it easier for the defense if they don't have to worry about one of the players shooting. In 2007-2008, Greg Johnson was our point guard with 3.6 assists. He averaged 3.7 points, 4.2 field goal attempts, and shot .307 without attempting many threes. That was a unique season because we had our top two career scorers in Antoine Agudio (who got passed by Justin Wright-Foreman later) and Charles Jenkins together for the only time, but our third leading scorer averaged 8.0, and we went 12-18.
