Re: Transfer Portal
This kid playing 16 minutes scored 4.6 points but shot at a 59% rate. You don't want him at the foul line he shoots 27% from the FT line. Abysmal he makes Gustys look like a superstar.Jojogunne wrote:We have reached out to 6-11 SO C Nicolas Pavrette from France. He played with NYC's Riverside Hawks in 2021:

Re: Transfer Portal
Size is always good! Will Hofstra use him as a stretch 4 along with a traditional center, or do they plan on him serving that solo big man role we're accustomed to?Pride97 wrote:Finally have our first incoming transfer - Myles Wilmoth form Butler - 6’9” stretch 4

He barely played last year, but in very Manyang style has a highlight reel from Butler practices. Looks pretty athletic and can shoot, but not much here of him being a post up player...

Re: Transfer Portal
Agree - definitely not a post type 5. Thats OK though, one thing we have needed for years is more size in the front court. Based on the video, I like this pickup.dutchPride86 wrote:Size is always good! Re: Transfer Portal
Really like this kid Kellman. He has a solid resume from Princeton starting all their 32 games. Shooting 61% 62% from the foul line and getting 8 points a game 4.5 boards all in 17 minutes. At 6'9 240 he would be about the size of Warren Williams. He's a kid who would come in and start.Jojogunne wrote:More Hofstra portal speculation:

Saw him when HU played them in November - He had a nice game vs us (without our Williams playing) - get him and him as a for low-post player and Wilmoth as a stretch 4 (cant remember us having 2 bigs on the court at the same time, mayber when Koon was playing at the 4)in 2015
Re: Transfer Portal
Wonder if staff feels Barrouk and/or Tomarasco may develop into serviceable players ??

Re: Transfer Portal
daHu not sure what u mean here. I know Wilmoth is 6'9 but what about Dubar at 6'8. Dubar doesn't always play the wing and does post up. So we have had two bigs on the court. If you remember Denton Koon was 6'8 and like to shoot the three. I'm not sold on this kid Wilmoth but it's a start. We need someone that can start on this team in the post and score. Rebound as well.daHUPride wrote:Me too - solid down low playertriplec2195 wrote:Really like this kid Kellman. He has a solid resume from Princeton starting all their 32 games. Re: Transfer Portal
I know Dubar is listed at 6'8" but he's really 6'6" - I've seen him up close next to others he should be taller than -AND HE IS NOT.
RE Manyang - that's a damn shame - as others have posted - took all the "goodies" and gave HU ZERO - Something just not WRIGHT!

Re: Transfer Portal
Just saying ZMAN disagree with this because if what u r saying is true then D-Stone is the same height as Plotnikov and clearly he's taller then Plotnikov. Why would we list him 2" taller then he's??ZMAN3 wrote:I know Dubar is listed at 6'8" but he's really 6'6" - I've seen him up close next to others he should be taller than -AND HE IS NOT.

This portal is a never ending revolving door of players jumping from one school to another. Just spinning out of control IMO.Jojogunne wrote:Here's another Twitter account with lots of portal announcements:

I wonder if we are looking at any local HS players?

Re: Transfer Portal
I see that former Delaware standout Mike Pegues is an assistant coach with Butler. He knows Speedy from their days in the America East. I wonder if he put in a good word for us?Pride97 wrote:Finally have our first incoming transfer - Myles Wilmoth form Butler - 6’9” stretch 4

That's because Plotnikov is not 6'6" - maybe he said he was 6'8" when recruited at Iowa St and just carried his height along with him. Schools list heights innacurately for whatever reason. Why do they list him as a Guard ? He's clearly not. He's also had a number of shots blocked that a legit 6'8" guy shouldn't.
