HU starts 0/4 from 3 but 7/8 from inside the arc. Pride up 14-13. Almost 8 minutes in.

Hofstra was up 14-11 (Princeton had led yet at that point), but a 14-2 run for the Tigers made it 25-16. Estrada ended that with a patented mid-range jumper. Important part of the game here after a decent start for the Pride. Hofstra needs to hang in for the rest of the half.

38-28, Princeton. Both teams are 2/10 from 3, but the difference is in the paint (22-14, Tigers) and especially at the line (no trips there for the Pride yet; Princeton 10/13).

Nice 10-4 spurt to end the half to get within 42-38 at halftime. Back in the game. Could have been much worse. Seven different Pride players scored in the half. Platnikov made three shots (one from 3) and is tied with Estrada for the team scoring lead (7 pts) so far. We'll see, but given his credentials and those first two shots, he can be a potentially very helpful shooting weapon off the bench this season.

This is an interesting rotation. Wasn’t expecting Marshall to be this involved. Washington has been invisible.

Some good, some bad. Carlos’ shot looks the same as last year. Thomas , though, looks to be the scorer as advertised

Some of it is probably due to the fouling but I am glad to see Speedy getting a bunch of different guys into the mix. This way we can see what works in these early games and everyone will be ready for CAA play.

Can confidently state this is the deepest Hofstra team since I've been watching them, assuming Williams is not seriously injured. Plotnikov looks really good. Thomas has a nice shot. Washington looks like he can contribute. Thought Marshall was a 12th man type but he is better than that with a nice finish on the break and also a 3. So far haven't seen Barrouk or Farmer. Bigs are overmatched thus far so Williams is going to be very important.

He looks smooth, right from that early, very patient shot in the paint, waiting instead of forcing, then a nice turnaround J at the foul line. That was the first sign before he showed others.

They made that run with Estrada out in foul trouble

Hope Washington is a good rebounder. They are getting beat to a lot of boards.

A quick aside... I don't care if they wear polka dots or plaid as long as they win, but not a fan of these very plain-looking uniforms. No yellow (or as some say, gold, even though it's really yellow) at all???

Two huge 3s for Carlos. The first brought them to within 76-74, the second, to put them up for good, 79-76.

Big win for the Pride. Way to start the season. A gutty, very good road win to build off of. They won it by finishing that first half 10-4 and finishing the second half strong.

What a comeback. Feel like this is usually one of those games that gets away from us and becomes a double digit loss at the end. Carlos coming up big. German looking like a player. Lot to like from this game along with some room for improvement.

Let's get Williams in the lineup and there just might be something there! Did not think HU was going to pull this one out. JC looks much better this season. I believe his two # pointers were the biggest shots of the game! On to Iona on Friday!

Solid comeback W.

Estrada was his typical excellent self. Marshall...WOW, didnt see that coming. Kid was driving like a bull and playing with confidence as if he had 3-4 years of D1 experience. What pleasant surprise. I agree with what Speedy said at the meet the team night, that German was a coach's dream because he "plays the right way". He is a nice addition.

First 30 minutes I was disappointed with JC (looked like more of last season), but he came up big in the clutch. Nice to see.

Looking forward to Friday....Hope Williams is playing.

I didn't think double digits, but I thought a narrow loss late. They kept getting it to one possession then it got back to 2-3 possessions. Didn't seem like they'd get over the hump until those two huge 3s from Carlos. Estrada leads the way as expected, but he got a lot of help and the D showed up late when it needed to (also at the end of the first half). That's a game that Princeton probably should have won. The Tigers controlled it for most of the game, so that's a really nice road win. I think from a gut-check, perseverance, belief perspective, they can really build off of this. But need to follow it up with a good home opener vs. Iona. For now though, that was impressive. far from perfect, but not supposed to be perfect in Game 1 and lots of positive signs from several guys and the fight overall, never quitting, was the best part about it.

We win with no inside presence. Very impressive! Williams, German and of course Estrada made the difference...Dubar disappointed...whats up with our bugs, the two did not play....Speedy said we were banged up last week but once again no news out of Prideland....

I'll in all great win!

JC! Someone had to step up with Estrada being doubled and even tripled at times and he buried both of those 3s. Interesting closing lineup, as many have noted Marshall being out there and contributing was completely unexpected. Real nice win that seemed out of reach after Princeton went back up 7 late with the ball.
