Tonight's selection show where they will announce Hofstra women's lacrosse first round opponent/location is set for 9 p.m. on ESPNU. Latest bracketology predicts taking on UMass at Boston College. https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/college/w ... a9pgD_begk

Congrats to our women’s team on making the NCAAT. They will face Loyola.

Big congrats to Shannon Smith earning first NCAA tourney bid! Was a challenging season on many levels and despite a .500 record they more than earned this with big win against JMU and two wins against Towson.

Was a slow awkward reaction since broadcaster said Hofstra name before was on board. Could definitely sense some relief since was toward end of show when name was called.

In normal years 17 with one play-in game but this year was 16 since was no Ivy League season. Far more women's lacrosse programs so hence the larger field. Hopefully mlax will expand soon to at least 20 and preferably 24, but not optimistic since not many new D1 programs being added and we will lose one soon with Hartford's announcement to transition into D3 athletic program by 2025.

Is this the first NCAAT for the women's team? Congrats to the team for breaking through!

Third but first time they have earned at-large bid. They also went in 2001 when they won America East title and 2007 from capturing CAA crown.

Hofstra drops hard fought game 11-9 after rallying back from 9-5 down to tie it with about 5 mins left. Frustrating knowing a chance at program's first NCAA Tourney win was so close, but so proud of how team fought today and throughout the last month of season just to reach NCAA Tourney. A successful season all-around and the definitely the most successful Hofstra team during the 2020/21 season. We lose plenty of star power, but hopefully can build off this momentum in 2022. Copied above are highlights of the game.

Pride1 , agree with all you say; except about "definitely the most successful HU team". Women's soccer?

Congrats to these ladies, love to see any program make the NCAAT - would've loved a W of course, but def a successful season making it there! Hopefully something to keep building on.

I say most successful since was only team to make NCAA tourney. Women's soccer would have probably made it had field not been shrunk from 64 to 48, but that is way it went unfortunately.
