Game 8 - Columbia

Post by Cards »

Has anyone heard anything about Jamal? After sitting out the DIII game, is he ready to go tonight?

Ivy league has streaming video of conference games. Not Free like HU, but I think you can buy a one day pass for 5-10 bucks. I think I will try to watch tonight.

I work in midtown, so it's a 10 minute subway ride. (Actually it's easier to get to than Hempstead, for me!) I'll be a few rows behind the vistor' s bench.

Access to the game through the gohofstra site. This is a winnable game and one we NEED to win...can't keep losing to the locals. Hopefully we can get some respect in the Met Area with a good performance tonight. Should be a good matchup between Rokus/Hunter vs their big guy Luke Petrasek....

Probably the tallest team they've played against so far, no?

Bernardi 2/3 from 3. One more gives him 200 as a Hofstra player.

HU up 21-20 now, but just 3/7 at the line, and that's without Gustys attempting one yet.

Columbia's largest lead was 5 at 10-5 starting with 16:16 left. Hofstra's largest lead was 7 at 33-26 after Robinson's second three-pointer with 2:24 left in the first half. Hofstra leads 39-33 at halftime. Bernardi has 11 points (but he has made only 3 out of 7 free throws), Greer has 8, and Pemberton and Robinson have 6 each. Greer and Robinson are tied for the team lead with 5 rebounds. Pemberton leads Hofstra with 3 assists, and he doesn't have any turnovers. Gustys has 1 field goal attempted, 1 field goal made, 2 points, 2 fouls, and 3 minutes. All of his other statistics including rebounds are 0!

Up 6 at the break on the road and holding Columbia to 33, considering HU's earlier defensive woes, and that HU was down 10-5 early, with Gustys playing only the first three minutes of the game before the two fouls, is a good job overall.

But make some FTs!! Why is a shooter like Bernardi 3/7 at the line? And HU 6/13 overall? The lead should be double digits. Hope that doesn't come back to bite them later.

Thank you for the link. There was a graphic on the screen that said Colgate instead of Hofstra. Columbia hosted Colgate three days ago.

7 fouls in a combined 19 minutes for Hofstra's bigs.

Gustys 3 PF in 7 min, Sabety 4 PF in 12 min.

Shows how nice it is to play two big guys together.... minus the foul trouble we're suffering from of course but I always say let's try rockus and sabety together
