CHASING MARCH HU Documentary 8/25

Post by triplec2195 »

I received an e-mail inviting me and other season ticket holders to this event; You're invited to a first look at CHASING MARCH, a new documentary chronicling Hofstra men's basketball's unforgettable 2025-26 season.

Produced by Hofstra athletics, CHASING MARCH features exclusive behind-the-scenes access throughout the 2025-26 season, including locker room moments, practices, team travel, game action, and interviews that provide an inside look at the Pride's remarkable run to the CAA Championship and the NCAA Tournament. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Attendance is limited to:
- 2026-27 Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holders (one premiere admission per season ticket seat) and/or
- Pride Club donors with a minimum donation of $100.

Space is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For questions regarding your Pride Club status or if you would like to become a Pride Club member to attend the premiere, please contact Mackenzie Taylor at Mackenzie.Taylor@hofstra.edu or by calling (516) 463-6733.

After losing most of this team let's see how high the enthusiasm will be. This will be bittersweet these memories!

Nothing bitter sweet about it ion my book as this long-awaited NCAA Tourney appearance created a lifetime of memories and it doesn't happen without heroics of Preston and others who are now gone. They are forever Hofstra legends and should be forever celebrated as such. It would be cool if German attends.

Agree about the memories but will still always wonder what could have been if they stayed.

Great to see but are they ever going to do anything for the 2020 team?

They did a documentary for 2020 team also that was released in early 2021. I admittedly never watched since was to depressed about what happened with NCAA tourney being cancelled but at some point I will check it out. https://youtu.be/Ix1iBgiShJ4

Ditto, thanks for posting. That's great! Did they promote much? I'm among those seeing it or even hearing about it for the first time only now.

Early 2021 was a crazy time and was strange basketball season to say the least with no fans at home games so understandable people missed it or don't remember.

Thanks for sharing this video, a first for me as well - very glad to see it, and relive an incredible year.

Absolutely awesome to see this event from HU - great concept, and dig the tie into Pride Club and Season Tickets to help boost both. These are the kind of cool fan experiences we need to be doing.

Attended last night's reception and preview. Would say a couple of hundred people attended. It was pretty low key with the new team in attendance.
The presentation was about an hour with mostly footage from the season and interviews/insights from Speedy/Cole and others.
All in all a worthwhile evening.
They said the documentary will be issued next week for public viewing.
One thing that was somewhat disturbing was several references to it being 25 years since we made the Dance...very little on Mihalich's run and championship.

I thought documentary was a grand slam all around as beginning of it touched on history of how long it had been since last time in big dance and touched on the heartbreak of what happened in 2020 with archival footage of Mihalich speaking about it. It then touched on the Speedy era and how they had been in mix but always fallen short in CAAs followed by a very disappointing 2024/2025 season. The doc went through every game of season culminating of course with those magical days in DC mixed in with awesome interviews that included Cruz and Preston. It was about 50 mins and very little I honestly would have changed about it so major kudos to Kevin Dexter and Stephen Gorchov for an incredible job!
