Amen!!!
Roberts and Edmead do not play like freshmen.
Davis awesome. Onuetu is improving daily.
The sky is the limit for this team.

Beyond impressed with the two freshman, Cruz, our bigs and the complimentary players - Biggie, Decady, etc. this team just feels good right now. They’re incredibly supportive watching the bench and seeing them jumping up and down for the guys on the court. Roar Pride!

We made 12 of 18 threes, and shot threes .104 better than Syracuse shot free throws.

KenPom has us second in the CAA, and within 1 point of UNCW. UNCW is on a 9 game winning streak including at Valparaiso today, but that includes no wins against the top 150, and four wins against the bottom 100. Our strength of schedule is 78th, and UNCW's is 352nd of 365. If their played and upcoming opponents stay where they are, only 3 of their first 19 games will be against the top half, and non-Division I games count as not being against the top half.

https://gohofstra.com/sports/mens-baske ... core/13785 is the box score. It says the attendance was 13,282. I wondered if it was our largest attendance at a game we won, but it was not. We defeated Arkansas 89-81 in a different part of Arkansas on December 18, 2021 with an attendance of 14,685. That game had a larger attendance that our last NCAA Tournament game, which was against UCLA on March 15, 2001, and the attendance was 14,235. When we beat St. John's in the Holiday Festival on December 20, 2009, the attendance was 5,780. When we won at Rutgers in the NIT on March 14, 2023, the attendance was 5,017.

Roberts has made half of his 3-pt. shots so far this season (10/20).

Cruz Davis made the only two 3s he took today. Says a lot about him that his other 12 shots were 2s, that he was a very efficient 8/14 for his 22 pts while dishing out nine assists, including the one that led to German's game-winner. How many times would we see either him or mainly someone else think, okay, I made those two 3s, keep taking more and miss? He is playing the right way and this is the team result you get when your best player does that. Very impressed with him this year.

That was a top 5 hofstra moment for me. Sat across from the bench behind the courtside seats in a sea of orange, with my wife, both of us wearing speedy jerseys. They absolutely hated me in the second half and were incredibly salty on the way out. Here's a snippet of what they said to me:

"Your team is garbage"
"You didn't earn ANYTHING"
"You can take a big orange shit"

What a win!

As Speedy said in his post presser he was the best player on the floor again even the Syracuse coach praised him as a"BIG TIME PLAYER". The coach said even when he's not shooting he's creating scoring opportunities for others. As I said before with Roberts playing at this level against tough competition his minutes will only increase and this kid is impressive. He seems to be very athletic and plays with a lot of confidence. Big shots made down the stretch but we need to be able to break the press and inbound the ball. It almost cost us this game. Another really solid win for this team who appear to be light years ahead of last years team.

I didn't see this game only the highlights I wonder what you guys think of Kiyan Anthony for those who were able to see the game?

What a game to be at. I get that Syracuse isn’t the cuse of old, however, they have a storied history and the son of an NBA HOF player on the floor today. Cannot express how happy I am with this team. Congrats on being at the game.

Hes a lot better than LeBrons kid, but that isnt saying much. Lol

Cuse might want to run more sets through him. Def has some real potential, but hes not that big. German matches up perfectly with him size wise. He did get right to the rim on that final possession and the refs absolutely did miss the foul call there

Definitely one of the biggest Hofstra wins that I have ever seen.

Ironic, too, that a team that was renowned for its zone defense lost becuase it couldn't attack the zone.

Why was everyone soooo excited? After all, all we did was beat another one of those lowly ACC teams

Conference play has not even started, but man am I hyped up for these guys. They are obviously geling and it appears they really support each other. Credit to Speedy and the entire staff - they are really pushing the right buttons.

YouTube commentators who follow Syracuse basketball are pissed. How could Syracuse possibly lose to lowly Hofstra? How about this…maybe the better team won!

What a week! Statement wins for the program with a little national attention added . Don’t know how we will do in the CAA, but look like we’d be at least a mid pack ACC team lol (just flip the letter and we are in! Haha)

Awesome to see what this team is capable of. Davis with another huge game, German efficient as mentioned (3-4 from 3) and Onueto with 11 huge boards (and not fouling out!).

But for me Roberts was the x factor. With Edmead drawing two early fouls in the first half, Roberts came in and dropped 11 points in 12 minutes - including 3 huge 3s. Having a 3rd guard that can score like that would be a major asset.

Most excited I’ve been for a team in a few years.

Roberts reminds me of Jaylen Ray
Remember the game he had against UCLA
The team is coming together
The CAA seems to be much better than Than we all thought it would be
William and Mary. SBU Hofstra are all teams that can break into the top 4
