Re: MBB recruits 2017

Sengfelder is scheduled to graduate this semester so he would have immediate eligibility I believe. (Had a 4.0 gpa this semester.) I like his game.

Re: MBB recruits 2017

How about Chris Sengfelder from Fordham who will transfer out. A solid 6'7' player who rebounds and can shoot the 3.
Not sure if he is immediately eligible...just posted on Verbal commits site.

Re: MBB recruits 2017

One thing I noticed about Deron Powers this year was his uncanny ability to break a press on his own. As good as he was, Juanya wasn't as adept as Powers to get the ball upcourt. If Buie comes back 100% he has a fine handle. My preference is Goldwire to have some size in the backcourt. Have a backco...

Re: MBB recruits 2017

So with the snow day I spent some time looking for recent video of Jalen Ray. His team played Potomac Senior in the quarterfinals of the Virginia high school state championships. If you like you, can watch very high quality video of this game played at Hampton University. Ray has 2 other D-1 teammat...

Re: Game 31: JMU on February 25, 2017 at 12:00 P.M.

4 games in 4 days.in 2006, History says that Syracuse was a nine seed in the Big East Championship. (Uconn, Marquette, Nova, and West Va. had byes... thus they would only need 3 games to win) Round 1 Syracuse 74-73 over Cincy. Rd. 2 Syracuse 86-84 over UConn. Rd. 3 Syracuse 58-57 over Georgetown. In...

Re: Game 31: JMU on February 25, 2017 at 12:00 P.M.

I would call it a good ugly win. The team wasn't hitting any threes but gutted it out to win. I don't think they have won another game like this all year. A good sign I think. Was ready to hear the WRHU audio with the JMU video, but they were not in sync so I heard the JMU announcers...I have to say...

Re: Game 30 - @ Little Napoleons 2/23/17

Hi Evan I was not proposing an all guard All Conference team. I was choosing a 3 guard like lineup and was saying Chealey and TJ Williams would be good candidates for one of those 3 spots. (My choices might be JWF, Dixon and Ingram or Chealey with Williams and Chealey/Ingram second team) It might be...

Re: Game 30 - @ Little Napoleons 2/23/17

Great win. Extremely satisfying to drill them at home. JWF is special. I mean every game he continues to unleash the beast. Really loving his play this season, and can't wait to see him as a Junior next year. Does anyone think he can be CAA First team this year? In regards to Joe M and his technica...

Re: Game 29: UNC Wilmington on February 18, 2017 at 4:00 P.M

Coach Mihalich's last Niagara team had Juan'ya, Ameen, Anthony Mason and TJ Cline. Somehow the AD at Niagara allowed the coach to bring 2 players with him to Hofstra.( Had coach stayed at Niagara he might have gone to the dance with that team.) Would love to know if TJ Cline ever considered coming t...

Maybe Malik Nichols has weighed in with Mr. Tripp. Malik went to Lincoln and he went to South Plains too I believe.

Re: Towson Today

Call me a sick fan but I still think something positive can come of the remainder of this season. Yes I too I am really tired of the "we have a short bench" scenarios which none of us expected this year. With the injury to Rok we saw some good things with Sabety. Somehow with this outsized...

Towson Today

Weather permitting, the Towson rematch is today. We had perhaps our largest blown lead of the season at the Mack. This is a big team at all positions. They buried us at the free throw line and in the rebounding department. I think we will have to go to the hoop and try to create some foul problems. ...

Re: MBB recruits 2017

Really happy to hear about the LOI for Jalen Ray! For those of you who haven't seen any videos of him, he is a clone of JWF. He is his brother from a different mother. Great first step, lefty, great hops and about the same size. Also sees the floor well and finds the open man. Another potential grea...

Re: Game#22 vs Drexel

Last night's game would have been exhilarating if one of those putbacks went in. Good triumph over adversity...losing Pemberton, Powers fouling out Wright-Foreman having to do it all. Alas a tough, tough loss. Hope Eli makes a quick recovery but don't count on him too soon I think. Two awesome plays...

Re: Game#21 vs Northeastern

As far as JWF goes, I brought a friend to the Siena game and he is not an HU fan. He started to call JWF "Microwave" since he was instant offense off the bench. Well Microwave was awesome yesterday...right now he is the MVP of this team imo. A pleasure to watch. (Watch video of Jalen Ray a...

For those of us who were dissing the recruitment of Collin Gillespie, no worries, he's going to Villanova.
Traci Carter can you hear us calling?

Re: Games You Went To: First Game, Last Game, Best Game, etc

First game(s) were probably 1964 watching the great Steve Nisenson light it up for Hofstra. A great pure shooter and prolific scorer without the advantage of the 3 point shot. Most of you missed a terrific college ball player. Most recent game Dec. 22nd vs. Siena Best game the Kieza shot to beat ODU...

Re: MBB recruits 2017

If Coach Mihalich visited and saw and offered him, that is good enough for me. Look at the guards he sees at practice for the last few years at HU. I suspect he knows talent when he sees it. Remember HU is "in Guards we trust". Coach is a Philly guy and probably has little Philly birds whi...

Re: MBB recruits 2017

I completely agree with Polito about Ray. On Youtube there are a bunch of highlights from his 34 point game last week vs. Bethel...he is awesome. He has speed and quickness like Powers has good vision and plays D too! Explosive speed and a leaper like JWF. They get nice crowds for their rivalry game...

UNCW over St Bonaventure at the Bonnies

Denzel Ingram (sound familiar?) with a last second shot for the win.
