Re: MBB Game 26 - Northeastern - 2/12/15, 7 PM

Not one team in the conference that scares me. Not one team in the CAA is scared to play Hofstra. We're the only team in the league getting worse, because our offense isn't as potent as we thought, and our defense does not hold up against teams that can match us with some size. Our team doesn't hav...

Re: MBB Game 23 - TOWSON - 1/31/15, 8 PM

This team is not "crap" and they do not "suuuuuuck". Anyone watching who knows a hill of beans about the game saw man, zone, man press, zone press, fronting the ball, doubling the ball, big line-up, little line-up....there were hundreds of in-game adjustments. They may not have ...

Re: MBB Game 23 - TOWSON - 1/31/15, 8 PM

LONG time fan (season tickets since the Darius Burton days), long time visitor to this board/CAAZone, but a very seldom poster here. As a whole, I agree that we need to take a step back, take a breath, and let this season play out before we start getting on JM's case. The fact of the matter is we c...

Re: MBB Game 24 - @ Delaware - 2/4/15, 7 PM

I guess this was a good win to break the losing streak but Ross is the worst coach in the CAA, Delaware has little talent, and we almost got coached out of a win by our staff tonight. Our defense has dropped over 120 spots in the Pomeroy ratings since the Northeastern loss. We've been exposed defens...

Re: Juan'ya Green

When I speak of his efficiency, I'm solely referring to his shooting percentage. The last game, he had 25 pts (to be exact) on 17 shots, making just 6. When Four McGlynn, who isn't as good of a player, scores 22 points on just 9 shots, THAT'S efficient. Green's shooting 36.8 percent for the season....

Jeez. It's not as much fun when the Drexel fans are so down on their team.

But yes, I do agree with their assessment. We're taking them to the woodshed tonight.

Re: MBB Game 18 - @ Northeastern - 1/14/15, 7 PM

I had a feeling they may drop this one, and as crazy as it sounds I almost wanted them to - this way HU can have their weaknesses brought front and center so the team understands what it's going to take to win this conf - now they can get to work on those things - there's no more false sense of sec...

Re: MBB Game 18 - @ Northeastern - 1/14/15, 7 PM

Huskies STILL shooting at 67.6% at the under-12 timeout in the second half. They also have 11 more FTA (6 more FTM) than us and 9 of the game's 11 blocks, and we're only down 66-63, on the road, against the CAA preseason favorite. Would not have thought that possible before the game with those type...

Re: Hofstra is in the Mid Major top 25

A lot of the pollsters seem to go off of the RPI in that MM top25 poll. We're sitting at 148 in the RPI right now, so we're not going to get much love unless we keep winning.

Re: MBB Game 17 - @ Elon - 1/10/15, 8 PM

Elon is the perfect matchup for us; very undersized, they barely defend the three , and not a good offensive team. That's not true. Elon entered the game allowing opponents to make only .298 of their three-pointers. I saw that, but it's a misleading statistic. Look at Elon's shots against, many of ...

Re: MBB Game 17 - @ Elon - 1/10/15, 8 PM

We should beat Elon like that every time we play them. Elon is the perfect matchup for us; very undersized, they barely defend the three, and not a good offensive team. Regardless, I thought Elon had a great effort last night, at least in the second half which I was able to see. We hit a few shots t...

I'm in with "Hofstra" et al. Should be a good turnout, hopefully the school can get multiple busloads of students down as well.

Great win!!! Juan'ya! He's getting more and more dominant as the season goes on. Big game for Tanksley, and Nesmith off the bench as well. We got Charleston's best effort, not many Hofstra teams in the past would have gotten that win. The team played nearly mistake free down the stretch to seal the ...

Re: MBB Game 16 - @ College of Charleston - 1/8/15, 7:30 PM

28-24 Dutch at the half. Somewhat ugly, not a bad game though, very solid defense. C of C has been able to slow the pace down which hurt us early, but I thought we started to play a bit better down the stretch. We just have to push it in the second half, they will get in more foul trouble. Kone and ...

Re: Conference Change?

I would only want a move from the CAA if we restarted football and joined the Patriot League with Fordham full time or William and Mary. That would bring the Patriot to 12 teams. Otherwise there are not many good fits for us right now. If the Men's basketball tournament expanded, it would likely lea...

Excuses, excuses, excuses This was a bullsh!t loss. LaSalle is a MID PACK A10 team - mid pack - and this was a must win at home in the OOC, not downplaying it or taking any moral victory - they crapped the bed. Sure, no real harm if this team actually learned something from the losses - they clearl...

Hathaway has been fantastic. The program has a much more professional feel since he's started, and the positive results are beginning to on the fields and the court. You have to give the AD a significant amount of credit for having a plan to put the program on an upswing

Re: MBB Game 09 - @ Coppin State - 12/10/14, 7:30 PM

Down the road, or even next year, I don't envision our OCC SOS to be where it is today. With program success will come better quality opponents (as evidenced by next falls tourney with a bunch of big name schools). I don't know, we have the strangest schedule this year. Look at the schedules of the...
