Re: Tournament Closed to Public

A real bummer, but look at the bright side, we have the advantage, we’re used to playing in that environment!

Re: MBB: 2020 CAA Finals - The Rematch

First off, the athletics department did an awesome job in DC, they were awesome to us fans, first rate all the way. As for the game, hats off to Northeastern, they played very well last night, and had an excellent tournament overall. I thought their game against Towson was the most well-played game ...

Re: 2020 CAA Tourney Trip

Good showing by the Hofstra fans, I thought. I honestly expected more students, considering they don't have class, but oh well. Maybe getting into the tournament will get the students back on board next year. I hope so, I think it will help. Also, allegedly we had two buses of roughly 120 students ...

Re: MBB: 2020 CAA Finals - The Rematch

No reason to be worried, the 1 point line is a manifestation of a close Pomeroy projection. I have all the confidence in this team, I think we’ve played well in the tournament so far, but we also survived through all the pitfalls of the one and done format, slow start vs Drexel, didn’t bury UD, I do...

Re: CAA QUARTERFINALS vs Drexel

Business trip. Battle 1 in the books, #2 in the war tomorrow night, no distractions, keep eyes on the prize. Opponents need to be relatively meaningless right now, this is about HU finishing unfinished business regardless of the uniform on the other side. Tomorrow night will be glued!!! Agree, just...

Re: CAA QUARTERFINALS vs Drexel

I'll be down in the morning with Hofstra as well. On paper it's a good matchup for us, the best we can ask for in this tournament. I thought Drexel played us well both times, especially at the DAC. We just have to defend the perimeter, if they shoot 42% from 3 like they did tonight, they will probab...

Re: 2020 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament

I know this is never gonna change but it still drives me nuts how the American East has a perfect Sat-Wed-Sat tournament at campus sites. And we have this garbage rushed together crap at an empty gym in the middle of nowhere. Looking at our student support this year, I think I rather have the final...

Re: CAA MBB Awards (2019-20)

Well deserved for our guys, awesome job by Kante in conference play, glad he got the proper recognition.

Knight is excellent, and would have been my objective choice for POY. I don't think that takes anything away from Buie's amazing jump this season.

Good story in today's NY Post. Unlike with Newsday, Hofstra gets the lead. https://nypost.com/2020/03/03/hofstras-march-madness-dreams-could-finally-become-reality/?utm_source=maropost&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=startinglineup&utm_content=20200304&tpcc=starting_lineup&mpweb=7...

Re: 2020 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament

I will keep on saying although NE is a solid team for the most part they're not the team to beat and neither is COC. All these teams except for us and Delaware will ride their success on their star player N.E. Roland, COC Riller but we have 5 guys that can score as does Delaware. Last year we looke...

Re: 2020 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament

The draw couldn't have worked out more perfectly for us. This is exactly what we wanted. The three teams most likely to beat us (W&M, Towson, Northeastern) are on the other side of the bracket. We have no excuses anyway, but it's almost like we drew up the bracket. It seems like any of the top 6...

Re: Men's Basketball 2019-2020 Out of Conference Opponents

HU’s SOS is very often quite frustrating. And the staffs excuses even more infuriating. But did want to come say that UCLA win is looking even more dope right now! Another round of kudos to the staff and team! Go Bruins baby :) Yes, now it is, a lot more compared to earlier in the year. And maybe s...

Re: MBB Recruits 2020

We had one scholarship open coming into this season which was actually given to Connor. So as of now we have 3 available and 3 commits. David Green Zion Bethea Vukasin masic There are 13 scholarships and 14 players on our roster. With no walk-ons remaining, the only way that is possible is if Crame...

He played for the youth program at Red Star Belgrade, I wonder if our connection to Charles Jenkins got Masic on our radar.

Re: NCAA projected Tourney Bracket

This one now has (4) Kentucky vs. (13) Hofstra in the East: https://twitter.com/CBBonFOX/status/1232005750911688707 Just getting in would be great, but if they do end up as a 13, I'd like to see them against Penn State, who I think would be the most beatable of the potential 4 seeds. Unless there a...

Re: why is this team different and the same as other Hofstra

As stated by HUSID 80 and myself earlier in the season this team reminds us of the 1999-2000 team. Both teams lost their superstars and is was left to senior leadership to guide their teams thru the transition. When Speedy left Hernandez Gittens Richardson and Springfield all seniors stepped up the...
