Re: College Basketball Annuals 2014-15

I don't know if they should, but I think they definitely could. If they win 20ish games and at least get to the CAA semis, would be very hard to complain considering where they came from. Is the CAA going to be much better in 15-16? I know Hofstra will be. Unrelated, did Adam Savion not make the cut...

Re: Meet the Coaches/ Practice Facility tour/ Midnight Madne

I get what they tried to do with the students last year. It didn't work, but I get what they were going for. To their credit, rather than still trying to jam the square peg in, they fixed it for this year.

Jay Hernandez (from like 15 years ago... that's sad) has been named an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic.

Yikes, Sacred Heart. I missed that. So he went from saying he was going to a DII school to saying he was going to LIU to ending up at Sacred Heart? Barely an upgrade no matter which way you go.

Re: Jordan Allen

I don't know why exactly, but they announced it back in March, so it wasn't a big surprise. He said he was going to a DII school, but ended up at LIU, where they basically are starting over as well. I guess he figured he wouldn't get too much time on the court at Hofstra, so he'll make a go of it th...

Re: Women's Soccer 2014

Heck of a comeback. I realize the competition isn't as good, but still, a 9-1 win over anyone is something.

He had Jenna Borresen play up front towards the end, so it looks like the splitting of time in goal is done for the moment.

Re: MBB Reseating

Part if the reseating also I would imagine has to do with moving the benches. If you like sitting behind the benches, you would have to move. If you want it be closer to the Pride Lounge, now's your chance to do that.

Re: Changes to the Mack

What they didn't say is which side Hofstra will be on. Do they stay on the west side (which I imagine they will, considering where their locker room is)? And were the women on the east side, or did they switch over at some point?

Yeah, no Cablevision where I live. Oh well. I'm glad to see they get some national games though. Hopefully some good crowds to go with it.

Re: MBB OOC Schedule 14-15

I think they just want this team to win some games, no matter who they're against. Four straight under .500 seasons would be really bad. Put up 17 wins or so and then toughen it up next year.

Re: MBB OOC Schedule 14-15

That's some serious travel right the the beginning of January.

Very different looking schedule than in past years. The competition isn't all that great, but the schedule itself seems pretty demanding. Let's see how they do.

Re: Jets Practice Returning to Hofstra

So they moved the blood drive to outside the Stadium without notice, which confused a bunch of people. They drew a reported 11k, which is a lot lower than I would have thought for a really night LI night.

I can't think of any local schools that do. Seton Hall practices on campus and play their games at the Prudential Center, but that's about it. I know Rutgers is talking about one, but that's been years in the works.

Jenna Borresen started in net and gave up the one rebound goal in 70-75 minutes or so. Melissa Kress I believe came in for the last few minutes and gave up the last three.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse

I agree with the last sentence (I mean I agree with all of it, but specifically that one). The numbers weren't that far off. But watching them play (and I was at most games this year) it just felt like Hofstra's opponents were all having the goaltending performance of their lives.
