Re: CAA Tournament Seeding and Tiebreakers
so hofstra gets uncw and then most likely northeastern and charleston. that's quite the gauntlet to run. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if chalk prevails in the quarters, then playing Northeastern in the semis will truly be a "neutral" court game in e...

Re: MBB: Game 30 - vs. Towson (Sat 2/24, 4 pm)
A big thank you to Rok and Hunter. In my 20 years following the program, our 5 spot has never been stronger than it has been the last 2 seasons. Rok is the best starting center and Sabety is the best backup center we've had since I've started watching the team. I always thought Sabety was slightly u...

Re: Game 29 at James Madison
Nice performance on the road as it felt like the lead was never in jeopardy all night. We even got the whistle tonight which is rare, especially down south and the home fans weren't too happy. A sign of good team playing well is when you can lead by double digits all night while your top scorer has ...

Re: Men's Basketball Game 28 vs. Drexel: 2/17/2018 at 4:00 P
They lost because Juan'ya happened to have the worst shooting game he could have (2/16) at the worst possible time after being a huge reason they got there in the first place. It happens (like Starks' 2/18 in Game 7 of the '94 finals). Afterwards, Juna'ya said fatigue wasn't a factor at all, he was...

Re: MBB Recruits 2018
My assumption is that Joe is banking on another 5th year Senior transfer who is available immediately to replace Rok/HS. When the season is over, that transfer list explodes with names and we'll probably be trying to add from that group. Joe has been pretty successful at plucking these 1 year guys a...

Re: Men's Basketball Game 28 vs. Drexel: 2/17/2018 at 4:00 P
I thought as I watched it, that Buie, during that 22-5 run to start the 2nd half, was the difference in the game. Joe felt the same. If you get what you normally can rely on with JWF and Rok, and what Pemberton has given more recently over the past several games, and then you throw in Buie's contri...

Re: Hofstra @ UNCW
So is the CAA tournament in Hempstead? If we're going to excuse this loss because it was in a tough environment on the road, that doesn't say much this late in the regular season for the team being able to get it together enough to have a real chance at getting the job done in three weeks down in C...

Re: Hofstra @ UNCW
This loss didn't really bother me. As I said, this would not be an easy game, and it wasn't. Anyone who follows the CAA since HU joined, knows that UNCW is one of the toughest road games of the year. Throw out team records, they play in front of near sellout crowds each game, and that that was the c...

Re: Hofstra vs Elon
I disagree that it's house money. We won't win the regular season title, but we have a little chance at the 2 seed, who plays a Quarterfinal against a team who played in the First Round. We're good enough that we shouldn't be satisfied with the 6 seed. In addition, UNC Wilmington is a bad team who ...

Re: Hofstra vs Elon
Eli really saved us tonight. The team played a lousy first half. We had no business being down only 4 at the break but Eli kept us in it. Then JWF heated up in the 2nd half and Elon never got going. They were missing one of their best players tonight but I'm not complaining. We need to catch some br...

If it was one time, I agree. But it's been a pattern all season and an example of poor coaching down the stretch of close games..cactus wrote: I'm not going to get too crazy about Wright Foreman shooting early,

Re: Game 24, home vs. Chareston
Just watched the presser Triple.. He can explain it any way he wants. His move putting Trueheart in didn't work. He also mentioned in the presser that he wished they had 6 more seconds. You mean the other team didn't leave us enough time to win the game at the end? We should try that. Especially sin...

Re: Game 24, home vs. Chareston
Exactly FD.. That's why my comments on the game started with JWF's clutch 3.. There is no need for anyone to bring up anything that happened in the prior 39 minutes. Bottom line, we are up 1 with 16 seconds left. Which oh by the way, we again left too much time on the clock.. But besides that, the s...

Re: Game 24, home vs. Chareston
JWF buries a clutch 3 with 16 seconds left to put us up 85-84. What a great college basketball game it was up to that point. 2 really good teams going toe to toe in front of good crowd.. And then Joe botches the last 2 sequences. And in typical Hofstra fashion, our hearts get ripped out AGAIN. What'...

Fun night at the arena. First of all, this was the best promotion in the 20 years I've been following the program. The Flying Dutchmen hat and shirt were must buys. Good job by the school to produce quality merchandise like that. The game was just as good. The talent showed up tonight. Pemberton had...

Re: Men's Basketball at Delaware on January 27, 2018 at 7 P.
This was the first game I totally missed in quite a long time so I can't really comment on it. I did track the score on my phone a few times and was happy they pulled it out especially after Thursday night's debacle.. The only observation I have from the box score is that JWF had half of the teams p...

Re: Media Thread
There is an article in Newsday about Tom Pecora as a Quinnipiac assistant coach. Our old friend, Steve Marcus wrote that TP regretted leaving HU for the Fordham job eight years ago. So, I will ask the board members again, what do you think would have happened if TP had remained HU's coach? Horrible...

Ans as for 5 years it means plenty...this program is in a MUCH better place than it was 5 years ago...we are bitching about a program that has the best player in the League and we are in CONTENTION for a top finish. GIVE ME THAT EVERY YEAR? i guess that's where we differ. It is absolutely not good ...
