we are going to really need DeCady and Tanner be the real deal. Just pre-season, but feels to me like those 2 are major keys to this season's chances for success. Totally agree here. Seems like Thomas almost flying under the radar after things didnt work out for him at LMU... Will he be an all-conf...

Away scrimmage vs sacred heart today

How'd it go? Any reports from this?

Very interesting to hear about Jefferson. Hes a guy I hadn't given any thought to at all. Bishop Gorman (where he went) is a powerhouse high school, maybe they got a nice diamond in the rough with him. Obviously major bummer with Lopez and Tavarez. Tavarez's injuries sound more concerning, but with ...

Preseason KenPom rankings are out. Hofstra comes in 3rd in the CAA at 141. Unsurprisingly Uncw is 1st at 105 and Charleston 2nd at 125. Towson and Monmouth also crack the top 200. As for non-conference opponents, LSU is the highest ranked team on our schedule at 62. ASU, St Mary's, and Murray St als...

Full schedule is out! With the Island Invitational (good name!) has to be most non-conference home games I can remember. And if they're gonna schedule two non-D1 games, making them first and last games of non-conference probably the best way to do it imo. https://x.com/HofstraMBB/status/210322343925...

What a fun hire! Guy was a winner, and has an all time Hofstra moment with the Rutgers shot in the NIT.

Maybe German joins him back here one day

Looks like German Plotnikov is going into coaching. He's listed as the Director of Basketball Operations for FDU. Maybe we'll hire him back here in a few years? That would be cool

Another game on our schedule per Jon Rothstein...playing Murray State in Mississippi. They've been a quality mid major for a while now, moved up to MVC a couple years ago. Would love to see a couple more power conference games like LSU but no problem with opponents like Vermont and Murray St https:/...

The CAA schedule is set: https://x.com/HofstraMBB/status/2077770507210957240 Seems pretty balanced. Even number of home and road games in Jan and Feb/March. No road trips south of Drexel in final 8 games of the conference slate. Could nitpick like having to go up to Northeastern and then double bac...

We have a non conference home game... and for those of you in on the joke on social media its Rothstein's coveted world cup goal tweet. Lol

So saw a guy who covers Vermont posted their non-conference schedule so far and notably it lists:

11/27-29: @ Hofstra for MTE

Uh are we hosting a tourney?! Anyone have any info on this????

Big news here. Looks like CAA is close to adding Fairfield as a full-time member. https://x.com/i/status/2069211686037328222 They recently built a new arena, not super big but supposed to be one of the nicer mid major gyms around. Theyre ok in basketball, shouldnt drag the conference down too much, ...

HU MBB Roster for 2026-27 So it appears that we have 14 players for the 2026-27 season. Corrections are welcome. Returning players: G Trey Boyd III, 6-4, R-JR?, Saint Rose/Pace G Carlos Lopez, 6-1, R-JR?, St. Francis (PA) F Joshua DeCady, 6-8, JR, Kimball Union Academy Transfers: G Nick Jefferson, ...

Back to recruiting ... Looks like we’ve offered 6-10 Ike Davids (2027) from LI Lutheran. He’s from Great Britain. https://www.instagram.com/p/DYhV8FDDgdw/?igsh=dWw1bzZzZWFtZnB2 Nice skills on offense and defense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otXbg9xcHJY The big schools will be all over him. We'll see how the dates line up, but good draw here. Not having to play at both UNCW and W&M is a nice break. Obviously two of the toughest buildings in the league and 2 games we lost last yr.

If I figure it right, all teams that were 13 seeds (like Hofstra) would now be 14 seeds under the new format, playing a 3 seed instead of a 4 seed That is correct. There will now be 4 additional 16 and 15 seeds, and you know those will all be filled by AQs and not at large teams. So have to slide a...

PortalUpdates, on Twitter, reporting that 7'0'' soph Spence Wewe is transferring to Hofstra from Quinnipiac. Not an offensive player, bur a solid rebounder and defender. started 31 games for QU. i believe an excellent pickup So we traded Parrotta for their starting center essentially? Lol Fwiw he o...

Northeastern's two best players from last season have landed.... at Uncw and Charleston. Lol. Kermoury to uncw and Xavier Abreu to charleston.

I guess considering we have 2 ex CAA guys can't complain as much anymore. But even within this league the disparity in money is just so stark.

As rumored, 76 teams will be very likely starting next year for the men's and women's tournaments. That plan could be finalized over roughly the next three weeks. https://x.com/PeteThamel/status/2049244083667783710 Terrible. If its true that the bottom 12 auto-bids are all sent to opening round gam...

Interesting here, report that NCAA president Charlie Baker is confident the 5/5 new age limit rule will pass, but would not be enforced retroactively. That would mean guys like Biggie, Sunday, and the entire UNCW roster besides Wessler are done. Considering how many teams have just about filled thei...
