Re: 2026 Transfer Portal

I keep seeing the take on Edmead being too small to defend at the P5 level... Did we watch the same guy this season? Yes, he's small, but he was one of our best perimeter defenders and consistently challenged the bigger/stronger guards he was matched up against. That guy is a dog! Happy for him and ...

Re: NIL 2026

Love seeing this and truly believe he's a high-character, loyal kid who wants to keep building at Hofstra next year. He seems to have a very special relationship with Speedy and staff and I do think our current recruit Xavier Swann would be an awesome back court mate for him to keep building around ...

Re: MBB Game 33 vs. Towson, March 9 (Mon) 8:30 PM

Hard not to agree Wags... I think Speedy has been doing a legitimately great job at the helm so far this tournament, but the two areas that could have killed us: 1. Not having something more drawn up for the end of the shot clock besides "Cruz goes 1-on-1 and shoots somehow" or "Edmea...

Re: NIL 2026

I just don't see any world where we're able to keep Cruz and/or Edmead fellas... they are giving us an incredibly special season that I pray continues past tonight, but the big boys will be waiting on the other side with Aaron Estrada/DStone Dubar money...

Re: 2026 CAA MBB Tournament

Oh man... so excited for tonight, but I also haven't seen anyone mention that Towson campus is an hour from CareFirst arena and tonight will basically be a Towson home game with their two top players playing out of their minds... Again-- we should WIN! But I think it's going to be a tough match and ...

Haha really amazing. Great find JBOD-- I'm not seeing it official or live anywhere as of now.

Maybe Towson got a quick look and is protesting Tejada 3rd team :-)

Re: Cruz Davis

Yeah this is a fun discussion-- which of our guards had the best single season for us and how's Cruz tracking toward it? I think JWF might get overlooked from time to time... his senior year he averaged 27/3/4 on 51/43/87 shooting percentages. From his HU bio that year: 2018-19: CAA Player of the Ye...

Re: MBB Game 16 @Towson, Jan 8 (Thu) 12:30 PM

Very nice win, unfortunately I couldnt watch today. Holding Williamson to 2-19 is impressive, was that more credit to our defense or him bricking open shots? I was able to watch while avoiding work calls... Thoroughly enjoyed the random "12:30 on a work day" timing :-) HUGE kudos to both ...

Jaquan Sanders

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but he is playing for Florida A&M in the SWAC. Happy for the guy that he found a new team/role... just wasn't the right fit here. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5105593/jaquan-sanders First 5 games or so show a lot of the same from ...

He supposedly transferred out of NYC to a new nike-sponsored prep school in VA as well... Looks like he got some new advice and is restarting the process in a number of ways.

Re: MBB Game 12 @Syracuse, Dec. 13 (Sat) 4 PM

Watched the recorded game. Great win, but Biggie Patterson almost blew the game by himself in the last five minutes, with Hofstra blowing a ten-point lead. On the other hand, he can be a heck of a player if he can stay under control. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Amazing win. Speedy and staff de...

Re: MBB Recruits 2026-27

Seemingly huge get-- congrats Speedy and staff. As far as NLI/$$'s-- there's a good chance that the market for non-top 100 HS kids has drastically shifted just like everything else in the college basketball landscape. With portal/NLI evolving and no transfer restrictions holding kids back, the major...

What an awesome season preview for them. Where's our version of this? Really gives a lot of legitimacy to the program, its culture, and its players! Speaks to a well thought out system and approach. I hope we're taking notes on our comms/marketing/leadership side. These guys look pretty good through...

Re: MBB Game 1 @UCF, Nov. 3 (Mon) 8 PM

Concerned about Biggie Patterson and this initial performance. By all reports, this was a talented kid we grabbed who we presumably had to pay a decent amount of NIL to come be a real contributor here. While I give Speedy and staff a lot of credit on how well prepared the team was for UCF, Biggie st...

Re: MBB Game 28 Thu, Feb 20 vs Monmouth 7 PM

Ok let's tell it like it is...Speedy is going nowhere...he wants to be here and he will do his best to right this ship....one bad year out of four is not bad for a mid-major program...look at Pat Skerry at Towson. How many losing seasons has he had? As for the players, we would be CRAZY not to try ...

Re: MBB Game 11 @Norfolk State Dec. 9 (Mon) 7 PM

We reclaimed the CAA's best defense on KenPom. They're going to have a great chance, maybe even be the favorites, to cut the nets in DC if this continues into March. Like 2020, they'll go as far as their defense takes them. Great to see! I also love that not only are we a very strong defensive team...

Re: Congrats to Tyler Thomas and Darlingstone Dubar

Really fun/interesting to see all the CAA talent at top programs this year. I watched TN/Syracuse and agree with all around the tradeoff between Dstone and Jaquan Carlos... Honestly surprised that Carlos still has the role, as his complete lack of a confident outside shot makes him pretty useless on...

Re: MBB Game 6 @Houston, Nov. 22 (Fri) 8 PM ET

Houston is #1 IN THE COUNTRY on Ken Pom, has one of the most tenacious defenses we'll ever see, and came ready to dominate. It was hard to watch, but IMO, was a great game for the guys. You know who won't look so scary in comparison to Houston? Charleston, UNCW, NU, UDEL, and Towson :-) Losing by a ...
