We all know that some of the things that Rothstein says have to be taken with a grain of salt, but his tweets from practice a couple weeks ago are still interesting and offer some insight that we might not have otherwise gotten. He seems pretty high on Malik Nichols.

Greetings from Hempstead. Here for Hofstra practice. Pride look like a mid-major on the rise. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 2616156160)

The biggest thing that stands out at Hofstra? Ameen Tanksley has completed changed his body. Put on 18 lbs of muscle in last year. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 3201391617)

Have no reservations in saying that Juan'ya Green will be one of the best mid-major guards in America. Could play for most BCS programs. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 6565946368)

Early prediction on Hofstra's starting five --- Juan'ya Green, Brian Bernardi, Ameen Tanksley, Malik Nichols, Rokas Gustys....(https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 2957401090)

Amazing how the CAA has changed in past few years. Departures of VCU, Old Dominion, and George Mason have really made it anyone's league. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 7771281408)

The forgotten guy among Hofstra's newcomers? Malik Nichols. Has all the requisites to be a really good face up 4 at the mid major level. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 7634955264)

Hofstra is an unproven commodity. But the Pride have talent, experience, and a proven coach. Tough to see them not finishing in CAA's top 4. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 4719170560)

If Brian Bernardi made 23 3's in 11 MPG two years ago at SMU, he's going make at least 60 during the upcoming year at Hofstra. Specialist. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 9178991617)

The wildcard for Hofstra could be former Monmouth guard Dion Nesmith. Has the makings of a really strong 6th man. Strong. Tough. Veteran.(https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 3284177921)

Certain mid-majors every year look primed to pick someone off early + Hofstra is 1 of those teams. Pride will beat somebody they shouldn't. (https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status ... 0270280705)

Good stuff. I would be surprised if Kone is no a starter at one of the forward spots. This team is going to have a lot of weapons.
