It's got to be Webber State if he is waiting until 9 PM.

I'd rather that than Fordham

That's because unless you are a skier, what else can you do in the mountains of Utah?

Would you wasn’t to play in front of 7,500 or 1,500

Bummer... better than Fordham, but what the heck, something must have attracted him.

Oof. Brutal blow to the gut - staff spent a lot of time and effort on this one, was a priority - bad loss and no close power by the staff. Very disappointing.

HU remains without a single verbal, unlike nearly every other CAA program.

The need for change is growing by the day folks...

It depends if you get to play as a FR or SO. Kupsas is a "late addition" to WEBER State's recruiting class:

These kids think that they will play at the highest level... we may see him on the rebound after he sits a year or so

That is a good reason to keep the 13th MBB scholarship open for a possible transfer. If I remember correctly, isn't this how ST got his HU scholarship after the JMU commit changed his college choice during the summer.

Yeah this sounded too good to be true and right in our backyard. I think the last kid we signed locally was Jordan Allen meaning Long Island local!

Hunter was a transfer. They meant straight out of high school

Although Kupsas would have been a nice addition, the more pressing need is for a 5 who can play D and rebound. I think we all know that Schutte is not that guy. The rumors are a Juco 5 and a freshman 5. Any word on those 2 recruits?? Unfortunately, if we are losing guys to the mountains of Utah, I'm losing my optimism of landing two quality bigs.

Other than the need for a PG, does anyone have info on Tareq Coburn? I think we all see KW role decreasing - will it be replaced by TC? He is not a PG - correct? Has anyone seen him play, followed him in high school (or at SB), or know anything about him. he is kinda like a new recruit but has more experience and has been able to practice with the guys for a year. Basically, does anyone know what we should expect from him?

There are other Kupsas type guys out there. Anyone know anything about Kurnaz (who visited HU), Seymour, Gebrewhit? Did we put all our eggs in the Kupsas basket?

Cards, have not heard much on the recruiting front since November...I'm sure the staff has many kids they are working as you must know that stuff like this happens all the time. I believe Coburn is more of a 2 or 3 rather than a PG. I agree we need a strong PG for next year, possibly a JC transfer.

Weber is a strong mid with great fan support, but let's not act like we lost him to Nova

The attraction is quite simple: he wants to play in the NCAAT - and he will there at least once, likely never would here.

I said years ago it was VITAL for JM to get this program to the dance during Greens time or it would become difficult to sell the program and vision to the level of recruit HU would need in order to be a championship team - after 5 yrs and still no dance and no buzz or momentum to do so, it is beginning to impact recruiting.

Frankly I've been mostly pleasantly surprised at the talent they've been able to bring in over the years with very little success or fan support to show or sell, which I guess is a compliment to the staff, if that's what we want to hang our hat on. But it's clearly still not enough and at some point you've got to show talented higher level players some fruit on the tree.

This was the #1 priority 4 yr recruit in the class for this staff - this is a BRUTAL miss - I'd love to know the backup plan... sign a class full of jucos?? Pray for last minute transfers??

I mean that's great for 1-2 players in every class, but that's not how you fill an entire class - it's super late and as usual HU has NO ONE committed - and I'm doubtful anyone is even close still - I have been a fan of their recruiting over the years so I should and will put some faith they'll get it done, but it would be naive to not be concerned about this loss and the overall trend of last minute prayer recruiting.
