Luca Kisunas to UCONN. Dangit!

Agree about the scandal. I think we will see more coaches and programs get hammered!

Fall Fest is this weekend, and Hofstra got Lil’ Wayne to headline. Great opportunity to have recruits on campus. Has anyone heard if we have any upcoming visits?

Seems a lot of recruits are removing Hofstra from consideration.

Probably expected on the high end recruits. We have to continue to go after them just in case.

A lot of the top end talent is (high 3 and 4), as they do nearly every year - agree with bob that they have to continue to go after them - next is HU needs to actually win something of significance to show these kids that HU is worth their talent

Time to get the job done. Early exit in an NIT game, or worse the first day of the friggin CAAT, ain't gonna land top talent. Year 5, this needs to be a big one.

That said, HU is in it for and going after some very strong talent as always. Not worried about the removals from guys who weren't realistic, but someone like Rhoden was def a key feasible target. Feel the same about Kupsas...key target, staff needs to close him.

Per my understanding, major events like Fall Fest are the EXACT time the staff likes to have onsite visits, so I would expect them to do so this weekend. Fan or not, Lil Wayne in the house is a super weekend for recruits to take in...

Biggest concern for me is I want to see this staff land EARLY talent - the commits need to happen THIS year, not next friggin summer. Too many spots to fill - I want to see some early CLOSING.

And don't you know it, UNCW with a brand new staff lands an early commitment before HU's established crew.

Unreal. I would say I'm surprised but... :?

It would really be nice to see this staff of 4+ years show some benefit from any relationships and strongholds that I sure as hell HOPE they've been building with LOCAL talent pipelines over the years the same way places like the W does in NC.

I don't demand all NY tri-state talent, the goal is the best talent + fit from anywhere, but there really should be a few HU favorable programs they've built fantastic relationships with that can be tapped into on a regular basis going forward to secure impact local talent, esp in classes where the need is 4 or 5 players.

C'mon JM and Co., don't let us down this cycle - let's get the job done early... and no excuses, nearly every other CAA team is magically able to accomplish this feat.

HU offers JUCO C Antun Maričević (6-10, 234, 2★)

There is some video on this site.
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/antun-maricevic

Looks like a big strong guy who moves pretty well for his size. Has some decent inside moves. Might not be a bad move to get a JUCO in for the RG replacement.

I think the bottom line is that we have so many scoring options after this year, that we don't need a big to throw up lots and lots of points. Play good "D", gets lots of rebounds, make a few baskets now and then, and make free throws. We won't need much more than that.

I would think we land at least one JUCO/Grad Transfer. We have four scholarships available and based on prior seasons I think we can expect Joe to leave one open for any potential late transfers. So in reality only three to fill; in my opinion the best course of action is a JUCO/Grad Transfer front court player, four year guard (maybe to redshirt) and then a best available player that he can land. It also depends on how some of the guys we landed this year pan out and what Joe sees in practice with Schutte.

We've lost two recruits to William & Mary in the last few days... one right from our backyard NYC

They have a lot more playing time to offer guards and we aren't sure how serious Mihalich was going after them. I believe in the past he has commented that some of the stuff he sees on websites (and i believe he essentially was referring to verbal commits) is wrong.

This paid staff is FULLY EXPECTED to perform in the field of recruiting and land the necessary commits, ideally in the EARLY period like every other similar program seems to have no trouble doing.

Year 5. They are FULLY accountable. GET. THE. DAMN. JOB. DONE.
