Lackmann Gone at Hofstra

Students received today that Lackmann is officially done at Hofstra. The past semester, students have been petitioning and attending meetings with higher-ups at the university to complain about the many health violations and outrageous prices. Lackmann had 4 years remaining on contract, and Hofstra terminated the contract. They have been replaced with the Compass Group.
Lackmann ran all aspects of campus dining, including food at the arena and stadium. Since one of the main complaints was prices, maybe the price of arena food will go down, now that a different company will be in charge.

I don't hold out much hope for lower prices at the arena, but some betters choices would be welcome.

We still have a long way to go to match the food court at "The Bob."

Yeah, the prices won't go down there, butt hopefully the quality and selection will. It's been 15 years for me of having to pick between the pizza or a churro.

Just so long as the prices are like the coliseum deli. The quality should be there too. I just dont want to feel like I have been ripped off like the prices at the Barclays.

Coliseum Deli is a bit expensive too. I paid 7 bucks for 2 hot dogs, fries and a soda for what they called a special. I'll go to Jim's any day!

Six fifty is the price of one dog at Barclays.

Oh, any major arena the price is going to be through the roof. Captive audience. They need to overpay the Nets somehow- it's either going to be the ticket prices or the hot dogs. I'd rather wait to eat until after than pay more for the ticket.

I work at Adelphi which uses Lackmann also. Here's a story one of my co-workers told when she ordered food for an event. This is a paraphrase:

Co-worker: I ordered dessert and it wasn't provided
Lackmann employee: We provided everything you ordered.
Co-worker: Look at the sheet.
Lackmann employee: Acknowledged that dessert was ordered and left out but wasn't apologetic

Are the heath violations at Adelphi as bad as they were at Hofstra? This is one of the articles that really got everything going, forcing administration to make a change. http://thehofstrachronicle.com/health-v ... -lackmann/

Oh I know. I eat a lot at Citi Field, especially when I go for doubleheaders.
Now before everyone gets all excited about Compass Group taking over the dining, there's a little detail they left out in the press release

Students are well aware of this, it's been posted in this group as well as some others on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/HofstraDiningReform
That's actually how Hofstra got away with not having to buy Lackmann out of their contract. While we had Lackmann, we had all of their managers and higher-ups, but those people are all changing.

This happens often in the business world. I had my largest account for 12 years. The company I worked for merged with another company. I was told I had to give up my account because the son of one of the new partners was working on getting the account. No matter how much I protested I was forced to give up the account. Four months later this salesman lost the account to a competitor. I was asked to get the account back. It took me 1 month by I secured the account. Three weeks later I was told to give the account up again. I resigned my position. The good news was This salesman again lost the account 4 weeks later to me who took a position with the competitor.

So ... is Lackmann still providing food services at Hofstra?

Meet the new boss ... same as the old boss.
