Game#12 vs Delaware
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
They seem to be very error prone with the ball, the amount of TO's for this team this year is frustrating. Constantly mishandling the rock and/or making poor decisions / plays. The freshmen are understandable, but the mistakes from the experienced guys are the most detrimental.
On the other hand, they are very adept at stealing on D as a team, so that helps a little to offset some. But sheez...
Really disappointing start here, and as much as I have loved Farrelly, this is on him and the staff as much as the players. Gotta get it together. This team has no business playing this poorly and being down this much against a depleted UD. Not impressed thus far after a poor NU series.
When are we going to see progression and the team improving? Almost halfway through the season here, and I'm seeing the opposite. C'mon guys.

A tough game to watch very inept offensively. Awful!!
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Kante: 4/8 fg
Rest of HU: 5/15 fg
30-23, Hens
20 of UDel's 30 pts in the paint

Again, can't let the guard down (no pun intended) with the D when they go on these cold streaks offensively.
But as we've seen in other games this year, they once again gave up a big run when they went cold. Up 13-12, had trouble scoring for a while, they allow a 14-2 run that gave Delaware a 26-15 lead. Defense has to remain a constant, ESPECIALLY because this team can't always rely on its offense.

Yeah their O is so suspect and this kid Masic really not contributing anything in this game so far. A miracle they're only down 1 32-31.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Some better adjustments, getting to the line, clawed back a bit. Ray taking a bigger positive role of late these last few minutes, which is much needed. Not great by any stretch, but some encouraging things to fuel here into the 2nd.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Much better to close the half. Delaware was slowed down as HU's offense picked up. HU finishes the half on a 16-6 run (to virtually wipe out the 14-2 spurt UDel had), and it's basically a new game at the half, with the Hens up, 32-31.Wags wrote:Again, can't let the guard down (no pun intended) with the D when they go on these cold streaks offensively.

Trueheart getting his first minutes of the year. Really can't hurt.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Well hello there Mr Trueheart, nice to welcome ya back - let's see how he fairs here in his game 1 of the year...

This team is really frustrating.

Painter just killed us on the glass as he usually does, whole team looked overmatched from start to finish. Props to Jalen Ray for a decent game but I have nothing nice to say otherwise.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
I am filled with nothing but negative, so I'm going to refrain from making a big post because it will be harsh and I'll probably regret it. This game sucked.

Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
No ball movement and it was our worst game of the year. We get blown out by an understaffed Hen team. We got 5 assists all game. 5
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Silly me, I thought we would blow a lead. Didnt think we wouldnt even actually have one. Wow. What a crap game. I am with Coach K. I cant watch this anymore, cancel the season.Hofstra wrote:Here is a previewEvanJ wrote:Are you asking about this season or if teams had signature wins they had guys that are now in the G League? 2014-2015 (first season here for Green, Tanksley, and Bernardi): 19th
2015-2016 (first regular season title): 9th (best of the rest behind the Big 12, ACC, Pac-12, Big East, Big Ten, SEC, A10, and American Athletic)
2016-2017: 11th (the top eight were the same in a different order, the West Coast was ninth, and the Mountain West was tenth)
2017-2018: 12th (passed the West Coast and got passed by the Missouri Valley and Mid-American)
NET started in 2018-2019: 18th
2019-2020: 17th
2020-2021: 17th, and it's worse than last season because the Ivy League isn't playing, 17th of 31 is worse than 17th of 32)
In 2018-2019 when the CAA got worse, all of the players Cards named were still in the CAA.
Neither Hofstra nor Delaware has written a preview yet.
Hofstra up 17 early 2nd half. Delaware wins by 9 with 19 late 3's. Most of which were uncontested.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
I was gonna say, you were too kind Hofstra lol - this team and staff have fallen off a cliff. NU is one thing, this was pitiful and absolutely embarrassing. No excuse for what was displayed today at this point in the season against this UD team.
I bet UR is absolutely kicking themselves losing to this.

Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
Poor shooting and a lack of rebounds equals a loss. For the last 4:26, NO POINTS for HU. For the last 6:45, 18-3 RUN for Delaware.
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
A Coburn 3 (at 4:26), the only HU bucket over the final 7:17.
Up 60-56 with 4:26 left, Delaware scored the final 14 points and wins 74-56.
Hofstra shot 37.7% (20/53), 3/16 from 3 -- which is exactly what HU shot from the floor overall, aside from Ray (9/19), Kante (5/11) and Cramer (3/7).
Perimeter D was better this time at least (Delaware just 4/17), but HU gave up 56% (27/48) from 2.

Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
WOW - could not have been worse. I guess the write-up will be UD defeats Jalen Ray, as no one else even showed up to play.
No passing, no defense, no playmaking. No Green, no Shutte, no SIlverio, no Bethea. I think UD had a deeper bench than HU.

Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
This team retired after Richmond. Hope they've embarrassed themselves enough for this year. An 18 point loss to a poor Hen's team. Stuball, when are were going to start blowing them out?
Re: Game#12 vs Delaware
19 boards. He had 6 on the offensive glass, only two fewer that Hofstra had as a team.Hof_Judge99 wrote:Painter just killed us on the glass as he usually does
