Can't lose this game. 3rd in 3 days for SB including 2 OT. Would be like the Mets beating the Yankees in the world series.

Unlikely, but Hofstra could win a CAA title without having to face another top-four seed (7, 6, 5)

Key is to keep Clarke and Madiou (sp) under control aling Stephenson Moore
Fritz needs to stay out of foul trouble
Sunday is not a good matchup with their center

keep the game in the 70s and we should be fine
If we pick the tempo up the second half that should put us in good shape
SBU has to have tired legs after their 3OT win

Beating SBU for the third time this season will not be easy.

The Seawolves got scoring from four players, including their two bigs, who were able to get to the rim when Williams was on the sideline.

Chris Maidoh scored a career-high 25, many on slam dunks, and Keenan Fitzmorris added 16 off the bench, including several from the perimeter.

Aaron Clarke -- TT's former SHU teammate -- led SBU with 27 points. LuHi's Tyler Stephenson-Moore added 12.

The Seawolves have won 19 games, one less than us.

ESPN has us as 5.5 point favs and gives us a 75.3% chance of winning.
I like our chances. We are playing much better defense now than we were against them previously and they have to be a little tired after two games and two overtimes in two days.

When you look back through Stony's conference schedule now:

- They have OT wins over both Drexel and UNCW
- Beat Delaware by 23 last week
- Took Towson to OT on the road
- Had a 15 pt 1st half lead on Charleston
- And of course the 2 very close games vs us

They are a veteran team that has sneaky gotten quite good, really not a fluke to see them here at all. Would not be surprised if Stony put up a better fight than Delaware, even with their hopefully tired legs. But would hope like you guys have said Hofstra's D wears them down and we eventually pull away

Thomas is 3 threes behind the Darren McLinton's CAA record of 122 in a season. Carlos is 19 assists behind the tenth most by a CAA player in a season. Yesterday he joined Robby Weingard, Speedy Claxton, and Juan'ya Green to be our fourth player with 200 assists in a season going back to 1968-1969, which is as far back as Hofstra has records for.

This is exactly why I picked them as the top dark horse in the tournament, because they showed they could compete with the leagues' best, even if they didn't always win. That and Colin Curtin also called it (after Hofstra's home win over Northeastern):

Geno Ford commented on it last night:

This will be Speedy's 100th game as head coach.

He's 66-33, so whether he has more than double wins vs. losses or fewer than that after tonight will determine which Long Island team will be playing for a championship tomorrow night.

Yahoo sports show us as a 8.5 point favorite. Wonder what crystal ball they have? https://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/stony-br ... 403110252/

They may be thinking that Stony Brook is already overstaying their welcome and the seed that belongs in this spot will take care of them, and also possibly factoring fatigue. And I think it's also just where the money goes and for whoever may be betting on this game, more will likely take Hofstra by a decent percentage. But it won't be that easy. Whoever wins this game will have to play well. If Hofstra keeps guarding they CAN cover, although all we need is a win, even if it's like the last time they played.

https://defiantlydutch.blogspot.com/202 ... brook.html is Jerry Beach's "I'll Be Quirky: Hofstra vs. Stony Brook (CAA semifinals)." Dubar passed Desure Buie and Kenny Adeleke for 19th in career points. He has 13 fewer than Dave Bell, and 27 fewer than Barry White. Thomas passed Mike Tilley for 22nd in career points. He has 8 fewer than Adeleke, and 22 fewer than Buie. If he makes at least four threes, the fourth three could break the CAA record for threes in a season and get him in the top 20 on our career points list. Dubar had his eighth double-double, and his first since the first Stony Brook game on January 22. Sunday made 3 free throws yesterday after making 1 all season before that. In our last three games, we shot free throws 41-49 (.837) to raise our percentage from .741 to .753. Our opponents shoot free throws .760, which is the 13th highest by opponents out of 362 teams. Creighton (the most popular team in Omaha where I live) and us are the only teams to shoot free throws over .750 and have their opponents shoot free throws over .750.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadca ... ?id=519441 will have statistics for Charleston vs. Towson. For now, it has the statistics from us last night with our logo changed to Charleston's, and Delaware's logo changed to Towson's. Normally Sidearm Stats has one page for each team that changes to each game, but StatBroadcast makes a new page for each game, and statistics from games years ago are available. If you are bored and want statistics without knowing what season, teams, and sport you will get, use a link I posted and change the six digits to a number you made up. I made https://www.statbroadcast.com/events/ar ... ?id=111111 and got Tennessee's 57-55 win hosting Syracuse in Women's Basketball on November 20, 2015.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=519442 will have statistics for our game.

Not yet. Towson now up, 39-37 with a 7-0 run. Thompson just picked up his 3rd PF though.

Towson got the rock fight they needed. This looks poised to go down to the wire

Yup, Charleston is beatable if you force them to play that style. But they are also good at knowing how to win that way too. This is going to the end.
Towson needs to keep getting paint points. It's their life raft in this one.
