Watching Charleston just run Monmouth out of the gym down the stretch here kinda further cements for me that we really didn't play all that badly down there last week. Kelsey really has that team humming

Monmouth went up 21 early in the second half, Monmouth got within 7, and Charleston won 83-59. Charleston used 15 players, and Monmouth used 14 players. Charleston won while Reyne Smith, who makes 3.2 threes per game, led them with 27 minutes, but attempted only one three, which he missed. They had four double-digit scorers led by Ben Burnham's 16. Ante Brzovic had 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Monmouth was led by Xander Rice's 16, but he shot 5-18. Charleston had a great ratio of 20 assists to 7 turnovers, and they had four players with at least 3 assists. The CAA Tournament had consecutive games decided by at least 24 for the first time. Last season there were two pairs of consecutive games decided at least 22, so maybe the current combination of teams will consistently produce more blowouts.

Edit: Towson trailed 30-29 at halftime for the second consecutive afternoon.

Edit: Towson won 66-56. UNCW's Trazarien White led all players with 24 points. He shot three 3-3, and the rest of his team shot threes 1-21. They had four players missed at least three threes without making any. The last time we had four players to do that was on November 19, 2022 at Saint Mary's when Carlos, Dubar, Estrada, and Thomas did it. We have not had four players miss at least three threes without making any against a CAA team from 2010-2011 to now. Dylan Williamson led Towson with 18 including free throws 11-12. Towson had 11 more rebounds. No player had more than 7 rebounds. UNCW had only 3 assists, which was the fewest by a CAA team since Hampton had 3 in a 73-43 loss at us on February 16, 2023. UNCW became the fourth Division I team this season and 56th from 2010-2011 to now to have 56 or fewer points, 25 or fewer rebounds, and 3 or fewer assists. It was the first time UNCW did that from 2010-2011 to now, and we have not done that from 2010-2011 to now.

We still have a difficult game in front of us tonight, but Amari Williams just went down with a hamstring injury for Drexel and had to go back to the locker room for a bit, now riding the bike behind the bench. Could be a big x-factor IF Drexel holds on and we survive tonight

This feels like best case scenario for us whatever happens.... IF we survive ourselves

That was a hell of a game. Hopefully Stony has nothing left in the tank if we get to them tomorrow, those kids really played their hearts out

We have to do that, too. Can't take anything for granted tonight.

Don't like this pace so far, if this game gets into high 70s probably favors Delaware. Need to slow down Drumgoole's penetration off the dribble

First multiple OT game in the CAA tourney since Hofstra's 92-91 semifinal loss to W&M in 2015, in Baltimore.

At the game. Hofstra caught Charleston grad manager Isaac Hennigan sitting behind the Hofstra bench and listening/watching closely. Took a few minutes to kick him out as he resisted Stephen Gorchov's warnings, even apparently calling someone for help on his phone, but eventually a CAA rep told him he had to move across to the scouting seating.

Seems dirty.

Spygate meets the CAA? Even more of a reason to hate that program. But we're not getting to Tues if they're gonna shoot like this. Don't mind the looks, just a lot of bricks

Considering Drumgoole totally outplayed Thomas I'll take up 6 at the half.

Hofstra did a nice job settling in defensively. Thought Sunday and Bryce thought both made an impact off the bench without scoring (good effort level from German too). JC even drawing 2 fouls on drives to the basket how about that?

Watch the foul trouble, keep defending the 3, and clean things up some on the offensive end and bring this home!

We lead 35-29 at halftime. Delaware's last points were with 5:59 left, and we are on a 10-0 run. Dubar had our only turnover with 14:51 left. I wonder when the last time we went that long without allowing a point or committing a turnover. The only fast break points for either team was a two by Carlos 30 seconds in. Delaware has 9 turnover, including 7 steals by us.

If Hofstra wins, the second semifinal should be moved to Nassau Coliseum or UBS Arena! :D

Hofstra also scored more pts in the 1st half than the Knicks did tonight!
