The fact that William & Mary at Elon is the CBSSN national TV game tomorrow and they can't flex it to our game (or literally any other conference matchup) is reason #1000000 why the CAA is a failure of a conference. Promote your best product, not your worst. Make national TV appearances a reward for performance and not a meritocracy. Or at least leave more than just the final game of the regular season as a flex. Shouldn't be that hard.

That's why the CAA is a perfect fit for Hofstra, complacency is us.

Conference Prediction: We finish fifth, win our first round game by 17, beat fourth place Monmouth by 15, lose to Charleston by 5. Go home.

The CAA is going to go belly up in the near future, and it will deserve to because of its horrendous "leadership". No one worth a darn is going to stay.

Unfortunately, HU's "leadership" has been just as inept so we have no better options. Great combo. Exactly the position of strength you're looking to be in while the entire college landscape is completely changing ... :? these are the reasons why I go bananas all the time and demand so much more. CAA is a dead man walking, and if HU isn't careful (and a LOT smarter), they will be too.

Anyhoo, back to this game. Shocking and embarrassing for the W to lose that game - but it seems Campbell has their number this year twice

This will do one of two things: either the W is going to come out flat and deflated or they are going to come out on fire with a purpose. Trask is going to be raucous... this is going to be a very tough game for HU. Would like them to be fully competitive no matter the outcome. No blowouts unless its an HU win 8-)

HU is showing signs of life, they will be just as tough for the W as the W will be to them. Have to steal at least 1 of these final two!

We're 4.5 point underdogs but hoping we put it all together a game with big implications.

No bigger regular season game for us than this one...looking back at what should have been. We should never have been is this position with all the CAA games we squandered...if we could have JUST ONE BACK...
But now is the time to make up for it...we are playing our best basketball of the year and if we have any serious thoughts about winning the League we will need to beat these teams so here you have it...all in front of us...GO PRIDE!

Seems about right for #3 (with the league's leading scorer and leading conference POY candidate) at #2 at this stage of the season.

As long as they play well and show they are very competitive in both games on this road trip, and still get a top-four seed (which they still have a pretty good chance of doing even going 0-2 on the trip), I don't think the final outcomes matter that much because, remember:

Two years ago - Hofstra beat Charleston at home in the final regular season game to sweep them that year and then got blown out by 6th-seeded Charleston from the very beginning of that game as a 3 seed.

Last year - Hofstra beat UNCW 70-46 at home in a game that was tied at halftime and we still remember how last year's semis ended.

https://gohofstra.com/news/2024/2/27/me ... wdown.aspx is our preview titled "Pride And Seahawks Set For Crucial Showdown."

https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/side ... game30.pdf is our Game Notes.

https://uncwsports.com/sports/mens-bask ... ts/2023-24 has UNCW's statistics.

https://uncwsports.com/news/2024/2/28/m ... fstra.aspx is UNCW's preview titled "MBB Preview: Hofstra."

From Jerry Beach's recap of the previous game, the 87-64 win hosting Elon was a unicorn score, meaning the first time we won by that score, and the closest previous score to that was an 86-63 win at Elon on January 30, 2020. It was our seventh unicorn score in 18 wins.

https://defiantlydutch.blogspot.com/202 ... ngton.html is Jerry Beach's "I'll Be Quirky: Hofstra at UNC Wilmington." Dubar passed Roberto Gittens for 22nd in career points. His 1,247 are 39 fewer than Mike Tilley, so Dubar will probably not move up tonight. Thomas passed Aaron Estrada, Carlos Rivera, Demetrius Dudley, and John Mills for 24th place. Thomas has 1,228 points, which is 12 fewer than Gittens, so Thomas and Dubar are likely to finish tonight in consecutive positions. Thomas has 19 fewer points than Dubar. Carlos is ninth in assists with 376, and has 1 fewer than Loren Stokes. Thomas, Dubar, Fritz, and Poltnikov scored double-digits hosting Elon to give us an 18 game winning streak when we have at least four players score at least ten, including 9-0 this season. Our last loss with at least four players scoring at least ten was North Carolina A&T's basket at the buzzer to win 81-79 at us on December 31, 2022. Farmer and Robinson scored 3 points hosting Elon, and the same amount in the last five games and 10 of the 22 games in which both of them played.

Here is tonight's schedule with lines, over/under, and KenPom predictions, and all games are at 7:00 P.M.

Campbell at Charleston
KenPom predicts Charleston to win 84-69 with a 91 percent chance of winning.
Charleston is favored by 15.5 with an over/under of 155.5, which makes a score of 85.5-70.

KenPom predicts Drexel to win 73-64 with a 79 percent chance of winning.
Drexel is favored by 9.5 with an over/under of 137.5, which makes a score of 73.5-64.

Towson at North Carolina A&T
KenPom predicts Towson to win 70-61 with a 78 percent chance of winning.

KenPom predicts Delaware to win 79-69 with a 74 percent chance of winning.
Delaware is favored by 5.5 with an over/under of 140.5, which makes a score of 73-67.5.
https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=484189 will have statistics.

Monmouth at Hampton
KenPom predicts Monmouth to win 79-71 with a 75 percent chance of winning.
Monmouth is favored by 7.5 with an over/under of 151.5, which makes a score of 79.5-72.

Not liking Fritz’ play in this game so far a few bad turnovers. Thomas has been smothered but we’re getting scoring from others. A beautiful thing so far. Thomas also has been patient not forcing it

Might be best scoring half from JC since 2nd half of the Charleston game last season, love seeing his aggressiveness. Couple sloppy turnovers, bailout fouls and bad bench minutes keeping this from being a double digit lead.

Keep up the intensity on the defensive end and on the boards!

We've seen this movie too many times in the 2nd half on the road sadly... making it easy for UNCW to come back here

and yet that was a hell of a response to that run
defense to offense, moving the ball, taking good shots

Impressive win. Dubar and Carlos really stepped up. Maybe they are peaking at the right time!

Took the punch and fought back! Wow wow wow. Double bye secured! First quad 2 win of the season.

We get that Dubar in DC and keep up the recent level on the defensive end... can see the formula to a special run
