Especially considering that Mullen is out, it should be beyond pathetic that it's only tied at the half. But I've learned my lesson with this team... tie is actually progress compared to last game vs hampton

2-11 from three and Hampton is working hard to give us this game but we’re working just as hard not to take it.

Fritz made 1 free throw, and we led for 45 seconds. The only tie after 0-0 was when Carlos scored his first points with 8 seconds left, and it is 27-27 at halftime, putting it on pace for a tenth consecutive game decided by single digits, and consecutive games where both teams scored under 60. We shot threes 2-11, and Hampton shot them 1-8. After Fritz drew a shooting foul with 18:59 left, Hampton's only other fouls were three offensive fouls.

Northeastern led by 19 at Campbell, and Campbell improved to trail 42-29. Aaron Clarke leads all CAA played with 12 points, helping Stony Brook lead 35-27 at Elon. Monmouth leads 37-23 hosting William & Mary, and Xander Rice had 5 points and 5 field goal attempts as part of Monmouth's balanced scoring. Delaware leads 36-26 at Towson. Delaware's Jyare Davis has 8 points and 11 rebounds, putting him on pace for 16 and 22, and I wonder when the last time a CAA player had at least 20 rebounds was. Drexel leads 29-28 at UNCW, and Drexel's Jamie Bergens is the only double-digit scorer with 10. That is shocking because Bergens has not started this season, and entered averaging 4.2 points and very bad shooting. North Carolina A&T at Charleston is starting soon.

Might need Tyler to score 35 to win this tonight. What a joke

Its a good thing wins aren't determined by which team was more deserving. By that metric Hofstra should be like 2-9 in conference. Very lucky to keep escaping against these lousy teams

Even for the usually unpredictable and competitive CAA, this has been a wild year. No one is really that great this year and it is WIDE open.

Drexel is now 1-3 since their 7-0 start. Hofstra is 6-1 since their 1-3 start.

Three-way tie for first, the top six (Including Hofstra) are within one game of each other, the top eight are within two games of each other.

Hofstra is looking more and more like a team that could lose its first CAA tournament game against anyone... or win the CAA tourney championship. The Pride's seven conference wins this year are by 5, 9, 6, 9, 1, 3, & 4 points. Hofstra's four CAA losses are by 12, 3, 1, & 3 pts.

Nothing was really impressive about this latest close win, especially against winless-in-the-league Hampton, but at this stage, just winning, any way they can, to stay in the mix at the top is all that matters.

This could be a record year for involving CAA tiebreakers. Buckle up. By default (because there are a lot of mildly good, but not very good or great teams), this could be a wild stretch run.

UNCW wins the tiebreaker for first. We win the tiebreaker for fourth because we won our only games against Delaware and Towson. Towson ended their 18 game home winning streak by losing 74-62 against Delaware. There could be a ton of tiebreaker scenarios going into the last day. Imagine if a team goes into the last day with a chance at the 1 seed and a chance at 5 or worse to play in the Second Round.

We beat up HU's bigs on here so often, so let's give props when they help out significantly. Fritz with 9 & 8, going 4/6 from the floor despite what we've seen before (4 PF) in 24 minutes and although he was only 2/7 from the floor, Sunday's 7 rebounds in 14 minutes was very helpful. Between them, their 13 pts and 15 rebs in 38 combined minutes helped pull out what at the moment, is a big victory.

Also, no matter how he struggles shooting the ball (only 1/5 tonight), Carolos - all 6-0, 170 lbs. of him - continues to rebound lately. Seven more boards for him tonight. He has 9, 4, 9, 7, 7 rebounds in his past five games while shooting only 10/34 (29.4%) over those games. He has to play better and efficiently contribute a lot better than that to make these games easier to win, but credit to him for not letting his poor shooting at times affect other areas. Still dishing out assists for the most part (less so the last two games) and still rebounding in ways that he shouldn't at his size no matter how he's shooting.

When u look at the box score almost hard to believe that between German and Carlos playing 65 minutes they collectively scored just 2 points. Mind boggling although Carlos contributed as already mentioned but Plotnikov almost invisible in the box score. Except for his 1 steal,1 turnover and 2 fouls he didn't exist. Not 1 rebound. Was there any info. on the status of Washington obviously could have used him in this game??

As we continue to hang on by a thread in CAA games it becomes increasingly evident that without TT big games we will be in trouble. Farmer playing 13 minutes kept his head above water but just 1-3 from the foul line!! You never know when the real D-Stone is going to show up either.

Just win baby! Worried about Washington though...that shortens our bench by half!

Great point on the bigs Wags. Will say Sunday looks like he’s starting to get his feet under him the past few games and playing more under control. He’s actually been pretty good at boxing out the opponents big to allow people like Carlos to get the rebounds. Doesn’t show up in the box score but I’ve been watching him closer lately and see improvement. Even his touch around the basket looks improved. Hopefully they will start falling soon.

It's like a repeat of Warren Williams last year. He likewise started out struggling and started to play better as the season wore on, and byy February, was doing what Sunday is beginning to do lately - boxing out opponents' bigs and allowing Carlos to sneak in for rebounds. Carlos' rebound numbers went up last February just like they have consistently started to this year with the W&M game on 1/25. Credit to all three - Williams last year, Sunday of late (hope he can keep that up) and Carlos for doing his part in grabbing those valuable defensive boards even when his shot is off at the other end.

Warren Williams so much better than Sunday. Also Williams slow start can be attributive to coming off injury

Last years two headed centers of Williams and Bochie Yodem were well ahead of this years duo
They were both grad students from a higher level programs
Also Sunday is a true soph who had little playing time as a freshman
Remember you judge a player when he is a junior or senior
Give Parratta more time to work with him

Nobody has the size of Sunday or the wingspan now he needs to learn how to "PLAY BASKETBALL" Just his size alone is intimidating. Williams was light years ahead of Sunday because he had played so much more competitive basketball. Yes he started slow due to his rehabbing of the injury. Nelson/Fritz kind of a wash though Fritz looks to score more at times. He's a worse FT shooter as well.

Wouldn't say Williams was from a higher level program...Manhattan has been horrible for years. I for one think Fritz is better than all of them.
