Bradley 63, UTEP 59 in the SoCal Challenge championship. The Braves win a very cool surfboard trophy.

With that and HU's win, both of my alma maters win championships on the same night.

That information is available going back to 2002-2003. The last time we had four players foul out was a 77-68 loss at UNCW on February 15, 2006. Adrian Uter, Loren Stokes, Jorge Lebron, and Greg Johnson fouled out. Since Lebron wasn't a good player, he got the job of intentionally fouling to try to come back, which led to him fouling out in 1 minute. I'll check 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 for foul outs and team foul totals later, but I have to leave home.

Team did a great job to win this one since the officiating was absolutely horrendous. Looked like D3 refs working a D1 game. Worst officiating that I have seen in many years. Calling fouls that didn't exist and not calling ones that did. And, as objective as I can be, calls most often favored Highpoint. Cudos to Speedy, coaching staff and players for having the discipline not to get technicals as player after player fouled out or got into foul trouble. The 2 points that we got on the High Point bench technicals turned out to be critical.

If we had lost this game I think I would have to file it in the ugliest games I had ever watched category considering all the fouls and the way we let them tie the score with 30 seconds left. Although Bryce Washington had some good contributions in this game he also had some big gaffs as well. This was a bit reminiscent of the Houston game that we should have won.

A few things reflecting on this game and our bigs in foul trouble. Clearly when people talk about Wilmoth this is a game his presence would have been huge in and with all the talk early on about Barrouk and his shooting ability I have to wonder why he didn't even get a minute in this game. Was this stage too much for him because he doesn't play sound D? Why didn't he get in this game sick?? Some things speak volumes and with his size you would think he would have gotten in the game.

We'll take the win. Atrocious offiating...alot to do with our swoon at the end of regulations as we were without some of our key guys.
Not enough kudos here JC...he flat out balled...seemed like everytime we needed a basket or rebound he was there. JC has to be the best under 6 foot rebounder in the country.
HAPPY THANGSGIVING to all!

The High Point center’s stellar free throw ability reminded me of Rokas Gustys!
I have seen better reffed intramural games.
If you watch the twitter post game locker room it looks like Barrouk may be under the weather.
South Florida lost badly last night so maybe we get some revenge next week on them.

So USF lost home games to Western Michigan and Maine recently.
They shot 1 for 17 from 3 vs Wmu and improved to 2 for 20 last night against Maine.

On November 29, 2003 at Maryland, we had six players foul out. Yesterday was the most players we had foul out in a win from 2002-2003 to now.

Don’t look now, but Thomas is DI’s second-leading scorer, averaging 25 ppg:

That's remarkable. He will be the focus of opponents in every game.

Indeed, a good week to be Tyler Thomas:

-- First DI player to score 40 points this season

-- Second-leading scorer in D1 (at least for a few days)

-- Thanksgiving Tournament MVP

He should receive some attention from pro scouts and others.

EDIT: As of this morning (11/24), Tyler's also the DI total points leader, with 150. Tommy Bruner of Denver is second, with 148. Ethan Taylor of Air Force leads Thomas in 3FGs made, 28 to 27. Hmmm, two big scorers in Colorado. Must be the altitude.

This would be a good weekend for Speedy and Tyler to go on WFAN and/or local TV. Maybe call up Bruce Beck to get a few minutes on his Sunday night Sports Final show on NBC?

Speaking of media did anyone see any coverage in our local paper called the Newsday? I see a lot of articles re St John's but did they even mention the tournament or the wins??

None...we have been blacked out by Newsday, the St. John's and high school sports showcase.

it seems they only cover home games I guess the economy is also affecting Newsday
My guess is they cut back on travel for their reporters so going forward let’s see if they cover the home games but seem to skim over our away games

Yeh but they managed to print a half page report card on St. John's. The most fluff piece I've seen in awhile.
