Gutsy win but it should have never been this close
57-53 but after a20 point first quarter we score only 37 points in 30 minutes
turnnovers still a problem
21 to their 12 that negates our 39-30 victory on the boards

Aren't they the 13 seed and just upset the 5 seed?

Question for the posters in the know, do you think the WBB coach saved her HU job with the win the win over W&M this afternoon?

I dont think her job is safe
you have to look at the whole body of work she’s been here for five years
Can point to where the improvement is
For five years turnovers have been a problem and have not been solved
Shooting percent has been a problem and has not been solved
I’m not saying, we should win a championship here, but the last five years we’ve been at the bottom of the CAA
It might help coach Santos if we make a run is where her next job will be

So Shadow do you actually think her job was in jeopardy? It probably should have been but true to form as in years past we play our best basketball in the tournament. Honestly I don't think she was getting fired we have a lot invested in her now.

We win this game with our bigs both scoring 11 each Swint and Anya and 25 rebounds. They're a force to be reckoned with down low when they are playing their game. Both Knights and Ineza scoring 10 each and Gooden 9 points a born again basketball player. Ally Knights is finally shooting the ball and it's paying dividends. A huge win especially considering our leading scoring going 1-5 and only scoring 3 points. That in and of itself speaks volumes. We turned it over 21X but they only scored 13 off our turnovers some weren't live ball and we scored 9 off of theirs. I said after losing to them in Hempstead by 1 point where we had the lead most of the game that I thought we were the better team. They obviously played much better in conference play. So what's the likelihood that we win tomorrow and go to the semifinal game.

Big win and I agree gutsy performance. Could have folded when they blew the lead, but they buckled down on D and got it done.

I know you are down on the program Stu, but W&M was 12-5 with a win over Monmouth so I wouldn’t consider them a bad team in the conference. Our bigs played well and can make a real difference if they can stay out of foul trouble. They played pretty good D overall and may have found a spark in Gooden which was needed with Von Essen having an off game. Good point distribution: Swint 11, Anya 11, Knights 10, Ineza 10, Gooden 9.

I would like to see Santos Atkinson back but that is a topic for another day. They just knocked off the 5 seed and are on to the quarters. Let’s enjoy this and hope they find some magic and continue this run!

I don't really follow the women with Hofstra or in the CAA, so you would know better than me. But there isn't a big difference between W&M (11-6 in the CAA if you don't count the forfeit win over Northeastern) and Hofstra (3-15 in the CAA)? Why wouldn't that be considered a major upset and a huge win for Hofstra?

A huge upset for sure but we had played this team tough in the other two games and clearly should of won in Hempstead. We had a 9 point lead going into the 4th quarter and we only scored 4 points. We are a lot more balanced in scoring and Emma doesn't have to take Caitlin Clark like shots to try to keep us in the game. Now they have the taste of victory, playing with confidence and they should be a handful against NC A&T.

We won, but at 1:47 of the highlights at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTarzTdDt8g W&M got a basket and foul while facing 90 degrees away from the basket.

We lead NC A&T 17-12.

Up 24-18 at halftime.

Could we see TWO all-Long Island semifinals in D.C. this year?

Oh well, fun while it lasted. Dominated in the second half (37-16, NC A&T). Lost, 55-40.

Aggies only shot 35%, but the Pride was 10% worse. Swint was 5/11, everyone else on HU was 11/52.

This team while short on depth played hard but could not hit the broad side of a barn
We took care of the ball but this teAm had little to no room for error
Its up to Rick Cole to evaluate whether coach santos stays.

John Danowski although it wasn’t a formal firing, he was never offered a new contract. They basically said to him don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Also, our women’s lacrosse coach before Shannon Smith also had to resign under the similar circumstances

I didn't see this game but up at the half by 6 I'll sign up for and only down by 3 at the end of 3 quarters but we lose it in the 4th quarter getting outscored by 12. A big disparity in foul calls in this game resulting in NCA&T going to the foul line 18X to our 8. We were even in rebounds because their center Clark had 19 rebounds otherwise we would have had a big advantage. When Emma and Sorelle only score 8 points between them Emma 5 Sorelle 3 I think we're in for a long day but kudos go out to Swint with 10 points and 8 rebounds Gooden with 9 points playing 21 minutes and fouling out and Brooke Anya scoring 6 with 11 rebounds. Collectively a nice effort from the women in a losing cause but they showed on any given day they can compete with most teams in this league.

So Stu realistically it's very unlikely that anyone is going to get fired here correct? Lets be honest I hate to say it but we all know who should be tops on the firing squad list, correct!! I won't repeat it hear out of respect for him and I've known him in a round about way for a lot of years.
