in 12 games this year, we have scored 14 goals and given up at 11
Our problem is not defense. It’s that this team has trouble scoring.
Over the past 10 years this has not been a problem, but this is a much different team
Simon will have his work cut out for him if this team doesn’t find consistent scoring

Scoring was also a problem last year too and was even worst in a lot of ways. Our defense has kept us in games thankfully.

We're tied for second with Monmouth with 16 points, and Monmouth has played 1 fewer game. Towson leads with 19 points. Assuming the tiebreaker is head-to-head, Saturday's game hosting Monmouth means we control our own destiny to finish in the top two to get a CAA Tournament bye and Semifinal at home, albeit it will be very hard to win all four remaining CAA games to get the 1 or 2 seed without help.
We actually don’t play Monmouth until Oct. 19 in the second to last regular season game which could be massive in terms of possibility of first round bye. This week just at Hampton on Thursday and then host Elon on Oct. 12 and Delaware on Sunday Oct. 15 in final two regular season home games.

So we play Hampton tomorrow at 11 AM
This is a game we should score at least six goals
Hampton is O-13 on the season, and0-7 in conference
In seven games, they have scored just two goals
They have given up 51 goals
No excuses this team has to show some offense

We threw them a beating last year 8-0. Hampton doesn't belong in this conference.

This game will tell us nothing about state of our offense as Hampton to say the least is not close to CAA caliber.

I will bet that Simon gives kids minutes that haven't played like an exhibition game.

So we beat Hampton 4-1 and it appeared we played a lot of our bench as Sasha McTiffin had the hat trick and Olivia Pearse scored the 1st goal. Sasha is a freshman from England and made her first start. We used three different goalies. We probably could have run up the score but gave some kids who don't play that much some playing time.

I just wonder why it is that there are no highlights of this game even when I go on Flo Sports. What is up with that??

Yeah saw the coach before and he's not happy with the play of this team. Only spoke briefly but I wonder if it's more with the O then the D which seems to be playing well. Al CAA games are supposed to be streamed thru Flo Sports no? This is B.S. I was looking forward to seeing McTiffin's goals.

So at the half we're up 1-0 on a goal by Aimee Hodgson. A lot of the play in Elon's end as we had the pressure on most of the half. I don't think that Elon even had a SOG!

We beat Elon 2-0 both goals by Hodgson her second goal came on a penalty kick around the 10 minute mark. We're 10-3-1, 7-1-1 in the conference.

To be clear, by 10 minute mark you mean 10 minutes left. In pro soccer the clock counts up, and even the college box score and play-by-play counts up. She scored at 23:44 (meaning 21:16 left in the first half and 66:16 left in the game) and 79:57 (meaning 10:03 left in the game). We had more shots 19 to 7, more shots on goal 5 to 0, and more corner kicks 11 to 0. Elon fell to 2-8-4. A draw hosting Delaware, win or draw at third place Monmouth (on NBC Sports Philadelphia), and win at first place Towson will be enough for the 1 seed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8H5Bdjk7pM is the highlights. Hofstra did not write a recap yet.

Triple it has a language all its own
The field is called the pitch
When the team wins, buy a shout out. It’s called a clean sheet.
Player scoring two goals is called a brace
Three goals are Hat trick

Four goals scored on the haul
Five. Goals by a player is called a glut.
Any other questions

So Simon was really high on his team especially defensively per the post presser after this game. This is a team that will try to score first and then protect whatever lead they have.
