Women's basketball 2nd round vs NC A&T 3/9

The upset kids may be at it again. This seems like the only time of the year that we put it all together. Like what I saw at times yesterday against UNCW. They will need to take care of the ball better SOS I know. Thomas playing healthy once again and Ineza is putting up some points as well as Swint found out after being here 3 years that she can play like a beast in the low post scoring and rebounding. Add Emma into that mix and we have a team that could beat almost anyone on a given night(CAA) if they play smart and their shots fall. Too may passes to Swint with three defenders around her will be our demise. Cautiously confident.

Here's hoping they get another one today. The ball movement was pretty good yesterday, but you are right about passing down low. The lane was clogged yesterday and either Swint/Thomas had no where to go or the passes in were getting deflected. Would we great if they could establish a perimeter game early to open things up. I think they were 1-12 from 3 (or something like that) going into the 4th Q yesterday.

One issue that hasn't been lately has been Swint's foul troubles. I think she didn't pick up her 1st foul until the 3rd Q yesterday and hasn't been in foul trouble much as of last. She had 10 of the teams first 19 points yesterday but slowed after that as UNCW bottled up the paint.

Need Von Essen and Ineza to pop for the outside early and hopfully hit a few to keep the A&T defense honest.Nicholson couldn't find her shot yesterday - hopefully that improves. Also Gooden appeared to roll her ankle - not sure if she will be available

Yeah outside shooting important as for Gooden she hasn't been much of a factor after having some really good games. They didn't handle the press well either making dumb passes instead of just dribbling over half court. It seems like every team will press us.

Good point on the press. They were making way too many backcourt passes. Seems like something they struggled with all season.

Also - i like that Ineza drives the lane, but feels like she's been blocked quite a bit lately. Would be great if Swint or Thomas could find position for a quick pass at times when the D collapses. Need more scoring from the bench as well - 8 points yesterday.

17-8 after Ineza hits a three to end the quarter. Awesome few turnovers great D and a lot of rebounds. Can we keep this up. Ineza had 7 points in this quarter and Swint scoring and playing tough staying out of foul trouble so far. Good passing from Thomas as well. Emma turned the ball over on an in bound needs to pass smarter.

I'm a big Emma fan but she's playing awful in this game bad passes and just got called for her second foul knocking someone over. C'mon Emma need to get in the game. Ineza having a very good game offensively so far in double figures and Swint and Thomas scoring no bad passes.

Hitting some threes to open things up - Ineza adds one before half and up by 8.

Playing well on both sides. The centers A&T have are a very difficult matchup. Swint will have to play smart in the second half. She has been a scoring presence in the middle that will be very valuable if they can keep up the outside shooting.

You know that NCA&T will make an adjustment at halftime and pound the ball inside to get Swint in foul trouble
We need to spread the ball around and continue to hit our shots

37-28 both Ineza and Thomas having big halves with Swint and Von-Essen on the bench with 2 fouls. Ineza with 14 points and Thomas with 11. We only have 7 turnovers in the half and unfortunately 4 of those by Emma who only has 1 point from the foul line. Only took two shots got fouled and also missed a three. Bad game so far from Emma. Rosi I should have mentioned having another strong defensive game no points but 2 steals. 3 points for Ally who has been very solid controlling the ball with 4 assists. This has the makings of an upset with the way both Ineza and Thomas are shooting along with our mostly good D. Lets go PRIDE.

We win 66-59 like I said these kids are the upset bunch. They're playing well together and only turned it over 14X and in reality could clean that up. Thomas with 18 Sorelle with 19 Emma with 11. Rosi with 4 steals just playing in your face tough D. Can we beat W&M tomorrow the #4 seed. We will be finding this out shortly. GO PRIDE!!

Stu u gotta believe we're playing our BEST BASKETBALL. Can it continue?? Our last regular season game we lost by 19 to them I think. Ineza had a bad game and Emma just a so so game. We will be more competitive tomorrow.

The game was tied at 59-59 when we made the winning three with 3:24 left to start a 7-0 run to end the game. We shot threes 10-16, and NC A&T shot them 1-11.
