Final game in this series today an important game for us as we're 2 games behind Delaware and a game behind now UNCW. We finish against Drexel and Delaware finishes against Hampton the worst team in this conference. Hopefully Apsel can come up big today and we score some runs.

Game rained out. No surprise there.

So I noticed in the schedule our last three out of conference games have been canceled. This is over a three week. All games we’re on the road. I find it curious now to me it could only be two things one is that our pitching staff is so depleted that they want to save the arms for the conference games only or is it that by saving money by not going to these games it will carry over to next year‘s budget any thoughts on this?

Stu, any chance they were cancelled by the opposition?

By three different schools I doubt it a few years ago we canceled our softball game against Lehigh. It was at the last minute. Lehigh was totally pissed. They had an alumni weekend that weekend and we canceled the whole series. We have not played them since I wonder why

Also, the year that we canceled the Lehigh series was told that the money saved from the trip to LehiGh would carryover to next year

We take two from Drexel 6-4 and 4-2 Aspel and Mullin in the first game and Anna Butler with a complete game in the second game. we now stand at 15-7 in conference. Win tomorrow and we lock up the second seed.

I like the sound of this and with Venturini out Butler is getting her shot and pitching well.

We're winning this game 4-2 as we hit in the top of the 6th. Apsel has pitched the entire game.

We sweep the series against Drexel and win today's game 5-2. Apsel gets the win and she is now 7-7. She gives up 2 runs on 4 hits and strikes out 2. Nice series win with a lot of bats starting to heat up.

I didn’t realize that Hofstra gets to host the tournament. Anyone know how that ended up?

it used to be the winner of last years conference tournament but with the CAA footprint they decided on the northern and southern
team rotation. Also availability of hotel rooms

In looking at the CAA Championships page, it looks like every school except NC A&T and SBU is hosting at least part of a Championship this year. I'm sure they try to do some sort of balancing out so a couple of schools are not hosting everything.

Hey Stu! Yeah, I guess I vanished shortly after we dropped football. Then you guys moved to this new platform and didn't leave a forwarding address 8-)
We moved down to South Jersey last year, and met up with JB from Drexel at a game in November. He showed me where the CAA boards are now, but I didn't see any Hofstra activity there. Then I found out about this board, but had some issues getting my account activated. 3 e-mail addresses later, here I am!

So we get 4 year end awards with both Chelsea Manto and Kasey Collins getting first team recognition and surprisingly IMO Giordano getting a second team award. Giordano led the CAA in most all offensive categories and yet gets beat out by Garber of Delaware who had some nice stats herself. Alanna Morse makes the all rookie team and had a nice freshman year. Now playing on our own field lets win the CAA.

Agree that Giordano should’ve been CAA first team if not for the shortstop position at least as the DH like you said she lead the CAA in home runs RBIs slugging percentage and probably OPS if you look at it

So we play 7th seed S.B. today at 2:30. No hiccups in this game as we swept them this season with Venturini getting two of the wins and striking out 17. I'm assuming NO VENTURINI so it will be up to Apsel, Butler, Mullin and Pisapia. We're a far better team with Venturini but it doesn't look like she will pitch again this year.
