We have to pick up the pace and push the ball in the second half

We scored the first 6 of the half, and Drexel called timeout. Estrada and Dubar have 13 points. Drexel has 4 assists and 12 turnovers. Carlos stole the ball and scored his first 2 points.

Edit: We lead 48-36 with 11:10 left. Drexel's first score of each half was making 1 of 2 free throws. Drexel has 5 fouls in the second half, but we shot free throws 2-6, with Williams 1-4 and Carlos 1-2. Estrada scored 18, and Dubar scored 16.

Towson leads William & Mary 50-49.

Edit: The media timeout was good for us. We took our largest lead at 54-37, and Drexel called timeout with 9:23 left. Estrada has 20 points and passed Ameen Tanksley in career points.

Edit: Williams scored 6 in 1:24 to get to 9 points. Thomas has 8 points and no made threes. We made 2 of 12 threes in the first half, and 2 of our first 3 in the second half while attempting them at a much lower rate.

We won 66-52. I just watched the end of William & Mary's 68-66 win hosting Towson. With 5.5 seconds left, W&M got a defensive rebound, went down the court, and drew a foul without having to shoot. The clock was increased from 0.6 to 1.4. W&M made both free throws to make the final score. Towson threw the inbounds pass across midcourt, where it was knocked out of bounds by W&M. The clock was increased from 0.6 to 0.8, and Towson decided not to do a catch-and-shoot. The inbounds pass was thrown to the basket, where Nicolas Timberlake got it and missed. Timberlake had a horrible game with 5 points, shooting 1-9, 1 rebound, and 0 assists. Towson's loss is great for UNCW and Drexel. I'll type more later.

Edit: On the Analytics tab, Dubar had the best efficiency and game score. Estrada had the best net points, with Amari Williams second, and Dubar third. We were +23 in Dubar's 32 minutes, and -9 in the 8 minutes with him on the bench. Marshall did not play, and we used only seven players in the second half.

William & Mary won 68-66 hosting Towson. Ben Wight led W&M with 20 points. Cameron Holden led all players with 22 points, and had 11 rebounds for a double-double. Teammate Charles Thompson had a double-double of 15 points on 7-9 shooting and 12 rebounds. Each team attempted 19 threes, and W&M made twice as many, 10 to 5.

Charleston won 99-63 hosting Northeastern. The first half margin was 17, and the second half margin was 19. I wonder how many teams have ever won by at least 32 points twice in three CAA games. Charleston used 15 players, and Northeastern used 13. Ante Brzovic led all scorers with 23, and Charleston had the top four scorers. Jahmyl Telfort was Northeastern's only double-digit scorer with 11. Charleston shot threes 12-24.

Delaware won 71-60 hosting Stony Brook. Delaware's Jameer Nelson Jr. led all players with 23 points, and three teammates scored 12 or 13. Stony Brook got 20 points from Tanahj Pettway, and 17 points from Keenan Fitzmorris. Tyler Stephenson-Moore, who leads them in scoring, shot 0-10 and made 6 free throws. Delaware shot threes 11-27 (.407).

Monmouth won 85-71 hosting North Carolina A&T. Klemen Vuga led all CAA players with 29 points unless somebody on Elon or Hampton has a very big second half in a game that started at 9:00 P.M. for CBS Sports Network. Vuga led all players with 9 rebounds. Teammate Jack Collins scored 22. North Carolina A&T had Kam Woods score 24, half of which came from shooting free throws 12-12. Teammate Duncan Powell had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams shot free throws well, but Monmouth shot field goals much better.

Elon leads Hampton 44-31 early in the second half. If Elon wins, home teams will win every CAA game tonight.

A lot of us worried about this game knowing Drexel had beaten COC and Towson recently in O/T but in reality was at this game and the outcome was never in jeopardy. We had a 14 point lead towards the end of the half and they were able to cut it down to 8. We came out in the second half scoring 6 quick points and were up 14. IDK that Drexel got it any closer then 7 or 8. We almost always had an answer. The first half they went to the line often on fouls called against our bigs trying to guard Amari Williams who admittedly was a handful but he missed a lot of close in chip shots. They had almost half of their points from the foul line in the first half hitting 9 FT's.Nelson played him tough and made him work but his foul shooting was atrocious. After both Warren and Nelson went to the bench with 2 fouls each Tomasco came in to play the 5 and gave up some baskets down there only playing 2 minutes. Drexel was inept offensively and credit our D which played really in your face pressure defense. Carlos was all over their PG every time he brought the ball up and made his life miserable. The kid looked very frustrated. We were awful from 3 in the first half shooting 2-12 but our mid range was almost automatic between Estrada and Tyler. Even the shots we missed were in and out shots. Dubar came to play in this game and didn't miss a shot shooting 7-7 2-2 from three 4 boards and 2 assists and a block. What a sweet game from D-Stone. Williams played well and had 9 points with 4 boards but only 1-4 from the FT line. He needs to clean that up he has become so important to this team. A really nice win another strong statement from this team that we not only can score at will but can play lock down defense.

Every win doesn't have to be a work of art. And even on a night where I don't think any of us would say Hofstra was at its best offensively team still shot 50% from the field against one of the better defenses in the conference. Don't know if Justin Moore would have made much of a difference for Drexel, but without him they clearly didn't have the backcourt talent to keep up. That game never felt like it was in doubt.

I know overall the conference is WAAAY down this year and we have much bigger goals/expectations for the team, but clinching a top 4 seed/bye to the quarters and back to back 20 win seasons is nothing to sneeze at. The commitment on the defensive end, improved effort on the boards, and depth of scoring options (look at Dubar picking up the slack for Thomas tonight) are all great signs heading into the CAA tourney.

Towson's loss tonight really hurts though, looking more and more likely they don't finish better than 4th, and having to potentially beat Towson and Charleston back to back is obviously less than ideal. If Hofstra takes care of business and clinches the 1 we really need UNCW to slip up and open the door for Towson to move back up to 3rd.

Agree with all - very much a take care of business win. Nothing super flashy, but as everyone has said it was never in doubt.

Great to see Dubar with a big night. Was a strong presence in the paint on offense. As Speedy said in the post game, if Dubar scores like that they will be very tough to beat.

Estrada with a very constant 22 though not super efficient.

Only issue they had at all was both bigs got into early foul trouble. NBY ended up fouling out and Williams was playing with 4 at the end. Tomasco got a few minutes but racked up 2 quick fouls as well.

Just looking at the schedule, Towson is one game back if UNCW and they play each other the final game of the season. If Towson wins that, I think they would have the tie breaker with the head ti head win correct? That would be assuming they both win out until then. (which would be tough since Towson still has a game against Charleston.)

IDK we should be as worried about Towson although we got beat up on the road on what was an aberration more then likely. We're peaking and they seem to be in a free fall of sorts. What about thinking outside the box and since Towson has to play both COC and UNCW back to back at the end of the season and also Delaware and NCA&T how about they finish 5th and Drexel finishes fourth. Drexel would have to win out and beat UNCW on Thursday. This isn't a crazy impossible scenario and could happen.

We just need to keep doing what were doing and winning...the rest will take care of itself. I am starting to get excited about this team and its potential to go pretty far...

Newsday, once again, comes to the party a little late with only three regular season games remaining. Do you think they will now assign a reporter to these games considering they are all on Long Island? Currently on KenPom: HU #93, Hampton #344, SBU #337, NU #296, and for future reference, CC #68, TU #147, and UNCW #150.

345 teams have played at least 11 conference games. We are the only team with 11 conference wins by at least 13 points.

Thanks for the link Jojo
This is where Rick Cole and the rest of the Hofstra administration have a ask themselves why we are constantly being overlooked by the local press.
Not talking about only newspapers but all forms of media. TV, local streaming podcasts etc. We should be exploring all forms of media to give us maximum exposure. Afterall arent we a communications school
