Men are playing Hampton today at 12 noon. There will be no live broadcasts or live stats. As Hampton does not have the facilities to accommodate these two forms of communication.

The boys have a lot of travel set up in the text few weeks

Hempstead - Delaware - Delaware - Hempstead - Albany - Philadelphia - Philadelphia - Washington (trip to the White House) -

When we beat SBU on Saturday night to the great disappointment to Polito who has to wait another week or more to post about all that is wrong on the Turnpike.
as the number 3 seed we have an easier time this time with Drexel because it is at a neutral site and they will not have the Philly refs. They win the CAA championship over the over matched and under-acheiving Blue Hens to earn a spot in the little dance (NCAA Play-in) they will beat down Manhattan in the play in game to earn the chance to travel to South Bend and see if the leprechauns have run out of their lucky charms(they have) The Dutch will send the Chaminade team home for the summer. All that will be left is a win and it is on the the final 4 and everybody knows that once you are there it is anybody's game. big win on Saturday and on to Memorial day where Hofstra beats Maryland by a score of 15 - 13. Mickey75 post about how Hofstra had to win the NC by two because ST can not win one goal games and Polito post that winning one NC is no big deal and if ST wants to keep his job he will have to repeat next year, making the final four is no longer enoughfor this once proud program.

The final post of the Men's Lacrosse 2023 thread is from stuball888 who states "I never gave up on the group or this coaching staff"

It was a long drive home from Hampton yesterday in some of the heaviest rain I have ever driven in, so I had a lot of time to compose that senario/post in my head.

A win Saturday would be great

Hey, I want what dutch field is smoking
That must be some pretty powerful stuff
On the literary side, I think you should put that script on some Hollywood producer’s desk
It is much better written, and some of the crap that is coming out of Hollywood now
And let’s put it out in book form first
This could be a best seller on the New York Times. Best seller list.

I watched the 1st half and being pretty ignorant when it comes to this sport it looked like an even matchup. Things changed quickly in the second half but when you look at the stats we seemed to dominate in shots 45-30, faceoffs won 19 out of 25 but also had more turnovers 17-12. At the end of the day its about putting the ball in the net so maybe they just took(had)better shots then us. A total layman's take.

You said it all Stu - another one goal loss. It is unfathomable.

As I saw goodbye to being a Dutch Lax Dad I want to wish all of you a good life and good luck to all Hofstra teams.

My wish for every kid that wants to play lacrosse in college is that you are blessed to have a man that cares as much about you as Seth Tierney does about his kids. With a season that saw two players lose a father, all of the injuries and disappointments on the field this group of young men never lost faith in each other.

My son was lucky enough to have choices on where to go and play in college and a few of those teams are still playing, I asked him if he had any regrets and he said absolutely not. If he had it to do all over again he still would have come to Hofstra and play for ST.

Have a great summer

Thanks Dutchflid for giving us all a parent’s and players perspective on what is Hofstra lacrosse.
Very nice thoughts about ST. This team did seem like a very together bunch. Sorry to see a boatload of senior and grad students move on. Good luck to all of them including your son in their post Hofstra life. Hope you will continue to be a fan!

ST is truly one of the class acts in all of college sports. He has been a tremendous asset to Hofstra, the lacrosse program and the student athletes who have played for him.
Unfortunatelly, the results on the field have not been what this once great program should be producing...
I would hope that Hofstra could find a postion for Seth that can utilize his class experience and love for Hofstra

Congrats to Danny Ochs, who has had a solid career for Hofstra. This year he often covered the other team’s top offensive player.
