Does anybody have any insight on why the Newsday Marching Band Festival is being held at Mitchell Field this year and not Hofstra like it always has been? I hope it is just a one-year situation and they will be back since it is great for the university to get a huge crowd like this for three days. I can't imagine what the conflict could be with the stadium but id anybody knows please post on here.

Maybe rent is cheaper at Mitchell field than at Shuart Stadium.

It is a big tradition to hold it at Hofstra though so I'm thinking it is a facilities issue. If anybody has any insight please post.

When is the festival? Could it conflict with a Cosmos soccer game?

October 14, 15, and 16th. No conflict there. I still have to imagine it's a cost/ insurance thing (Hofstra requires a lot of insurance. County might not).
