Flo sucks, feed jumping all over the place, game interrupted by blasting ads, cuts to other feeds, etc. You have to be nuts, like me to try and watch this.

With 35 attempts, UNCW is on pace for 70. The last four times we allowed at least 70 attempts in regulation, we won, and we won seven of the last eight times we allowed at least 70 attempts in regulation with the loss to Villanova.

Charleston led Northeastern 43-36 at halftime, and Elon leads Drexel 21-20 at halftime, so Elon is leading with their game having fewer combined points than Charleston.

An announcer said UNCW had made 1 three and needs more, so they made consecutive threes to go up 2. Pemberton made a 3 with 7:39 left, and Hofstra called timeout that became the media timeout.

Edit: UNCW has the ball up 57-54 with 5:50 left. There's a media timeout, so Hofstra's timeout last full length without being a media timeout.

Edit: Coburn made his third three to reach 13 points and tie it at 57. UNCW missed and committed a foul trying to get the rebound. It was their fifth, so Hofstra will inbound. The first half under 4 timeout was with 1:10 left, and the second half under 4 timeout was as early as possible with 3:59 left.

HU was lucky to come away with a win, but I guess any road win is good. Coburn bailed out the team in the 2nd half.

The Jekyll and Hyde play continues.

Nice to see TC come back with a nice game.

No ST, HH, CB (played 1 minute while DB getting taped), minimal OS. Is there still sickness in the ranks?

Props to Kante for redeeming himself in the 2nd half, much improved. It doesn't get uglier than that, but it's a W. 5-1.

Shadow u mean very, very, very lucky and that's putting it mildly. This would have been a real dagger if we lost this one. I think kudos to Coburn who played a game of old a good sign for us I hope!!!

Maybe Coburn and the rest of the team finally rested during the time off. I believe that some of the players were overcoming being sick. By the way, no ST in the rotation? Does anyone have any reasons?

Really ugly win but if we can somehow win @CoC on Saturday there’s a good chance we’d be 9-1 going into the rematch against W&M. Gotta give IK credit, I was really hard on him early in season but he has turned into a different player.

Could argue that it shouldn't have been that difficult (UNCW scored about what I expected, but I thought HU would be in the mid 70s or so), but here's the bottom line: down double digits at JMU and again at Towson, then blew a 16-point lead at Northeastern and after leading 14-6, allowed a huge UNCW run and had to pull this out tonight... so in the big picture, this team could very easily be 0-4 on the road in CAA play and yet here they are, 4-0. That will help them when it matters most, in the CAA tourney. They will definitely be tested at times, if not the whole way through their stay in that tourney, just like they were in these four road games. So far on the road in conference play, no matter the type of adversity, they have found a way to win every time. That's exactly what you want to see as a good sign for when it counts the most in D.C.

Work to do? Absolutely, in several areas. And they know it. But, in the CAA, when things change dramatically and there's little consistency from game to game or even stretch to stretch within games, just get the W's. So far, they've done that very well.

As mentioned above, great to see Coburn finally put up a real solid game again. They don't win without him tonight. He was key. But it was a team win. Good balance between Coburn, Buie, Pemberton and Kante, and Ray chipping in some as well. And, remember how rare it was that a Mihalich-coached Hofstra team could win a game in the low 60s? So that's another good sign for D.C. A win on Sat. would be great, but as long as they stay close in that one, even with a loss, they've done what they've alreaday needed to do over these first seven games (though, staying close with W&M at home rather than getting blown out wasn't good, but that might prove to be an aberration).

15/28 shooting in the second half, 3/6 from 3 after going just 9/24 and 5/15 from 3 in the first half. Much better shot selection and efficiency, and good enough D down the stretch to win it. All positive things to build on.

p.s. Brian Bernardi loved Buie's crisp game-winning pass to Kante.

This was a trap game. Fired their coach, their kids played HARD, gave everything they had yet we still prevailed. Great to see Coburn bounce back after his swoon/flu and Kante dominate in second half. Clearly the plan was to go to him in the second stanza.
Hope Buie's wrist is ok. Quick turnaround vs Charleston...they'll be fired up after blowing game vs. Northeastern.

Why was that not the plan in the first half, knowing UNCW wasn't built to stop him inside? Could've made things a lot easier instead of jacking up 15 3s (making only 5) while taking only 9 shots from 2 in that half.

You'll have to ask the coach! :D

:D Won't matter anymore by the time they play their next home game (unless by then, it's a continued trend from last night). And, my question was kind of rhetorical anyway, as I sort of already know the answer: they think they are a better perimeter 3-point shooting team than they are (8th in the CAA at 33.3%). They're at their best when they attack & get to the line often and when they are disciplined enough to take higher percentage mid-range shots or when they score in the paint.

We've reversed the trend of our forward who doesn't shoot threes having his field goal attempts per game decrease:

2015-2016 with sophomore Gustys: 8.56
2016-2017 with junior Gustys: exactly 7.5
2017-2018 with senior Gustys: 7.10
2018-2019 with Taylor: 5.09
2019-2020 with Kante: 6.37

Interesting: Hofstra has won 15 of its last 16 games on Thursdays, dating back to two seasons ago. They're also second nationally in road wins this year, with seven.

I had a great experience with the feed, no cut outs and normal commercials during time outs.

I've had nothing but problems streaming from the app to my t.v. I've had good success playing it thru my computer but this is a small screen. My widescreen t.v. is downstairs and I'm probably having a problem down there because my wi-fi signal is not that strong down there but definitely not thrilled with it. IDK if anyone was finding the flo-sport constantly panning into the crowd during this game annoying??
