Pemberton Leads the NCAA in Minutes, CAA With 5 of the Top 7
Pemberton Leads the NCAA in Minutes, CAA With 5 of the Top 7
The CAA pointed out that the top three in minutes are Pemberton with 538:23, Delaware's Nate Darling with 535:36, and Buie with 532:12. The NCAA just gives whole numbers, and it hasn't updated through yesterday, but only 8.5 percent of teams played yesterday, so not much changed. The NCAA lists Pemberton with 538, Darling with 535, Buie with 532, Drexel's Camren Wynter fifth with 527, and Northeastern's Jordan Roland seventh with 519. Therefore either the NCAA disagrees with the CAA in terms of seconds, or the NCAA rounds everything down, because they didn't round Darling's 535:36 up to 536. In the eight days from Thursday through next Thursday, the CAA will have four games with at least two of the top seven in minutes, including on three consecutive games. There's us hosting W&M tomorrow, Delaware at Drexel on Friday, us hosting Elon on Saturday, and us at Northeastern next Thursday, which will have three of the top seven in minutes.

Love / Hate relationship with this - proud of the young man, workhorse stud, and want him playing a LOT - but do not enjoy seeing HU bury the best players into the ground every single yr. Has cost this program the dance a few times IMO.

The NBA right now is all about load management so they are well behind the curve here. No way on earth should he have 2 of the top 3 guys in minutes played in the NCAA, that is ridiculous.

They also play 82 games in the NBA regular season. An entire college season with post season play is probably not even half that for most teams.cactus wrote:The NBA right now is all about load management so they are well behind the curve here. If we play 3 CAA Tournament games and 1 game after that, it's 35 games, and games are 5/6ths the length of NBA games. You also have the think about the frequency of games. If the NCAA season was as long as the NBA season in terms of days, it would still be well under 82 games because of the frequency of games, but it would be closer than it is now. NCAA athletes have class, and have to make long bus trips that NBA players don't have. Most top players are on teams who play most of their nonconference games at home. There are so many variables that I don't think it makes sense to compare us to the NBA. Just compare us to other NCAA teams.
