Hofstra is 0-4 against Maryland, with the most recent game being an 87-72 loss at Maryland in the fourth game of 2003-2004. That's one of our most played opponents without a win:

vs. Notre Dame: 0-7
vs. South Carolina: 0-6
vs. Panzer: 0-5 (all from 1937-1938 to 1941-1942)
vs. Villanova: 0-4
vs. Maryland: 0-4

A couple of weeks ago I spoke with a MBB fan at Villanova. He told me that he thought our game last fall was the first half of a home & home series. Anyone heard anything about this and could we be playing Nova at their place this fall?

I'd be shocked if Villanova was willing to play a game at Hofstra on campus and a game at Nassau Coliseum without any games in Philadelphia. If I knew we were playing again, I would guess it would be at Villanova.

my impression from the student was that the game would be on Nova campus. The Nova arena has been closed for the past 18 months for a complete makeover. it is supposed to be open for all of this seasons home games

So that's two home games for Villanova...maybe we are doing a three year deal with one homer for us.

I believe that the Maryland game is part of a tournament...we get two home games and two road games of which Maryland is one of the road games.

An article did not name days of the week but said the CAA Tournament is March 8 to 11, which is Friday to Monday.

OK - so far we have Maryland, Marshall, and of course Stony Brook (should be at home). Anyone know if Monmouth and/or Rider (places we travelled to last season) may have been set up as a 2 year agreement?
Usually have Sienna in there (would be at home this year).
Probably Molloy (which should be billed as a scrimmage rather than a game).
Another away game as part of the Maryland tourney and maybe 2 more home games?
If the rumor I had heard from Nova students is true - possibly a game at Villanova (on thier campus) this year.

That would give us 11 games - pre CAA play. That would give us 7 home games (if you include Molloy) and 4 away. Sounds a little lop-sided, but if the Maryland tourney is a spread out 2 home and 2 away games, 7 home games could be real. maybe one more away game to give us an even dozen.

What do you think?

Not counting the canada trip and the fairfield exhibition we had 4 home and 8 road non conference games in 2017-18. So definitely seems reasonable that could reverse in 2018-19. I would think the rumors you heard about the villanova game aren't true; with how early the kentucky and villanova games were announced it would seem weird this would still not be announced if we were playing there.

According to SB Nation, Hofstra is in the early season Maryland MTE Tournament. Only the HU at Marshall game on November 11th is listed so far. Besides Marshall and Maryland, in the tournament are Mount St. Mary's and North Carolina A&T. The Tournament is listed as lasting from Sunday November 11th, to the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 23rd. All games will occur on campus sites. I am guessing HU will get two home games at the Mack Arena against MSM and NCA&T. This would add up to what HUSID74 mentioned in his post from 6-12-18.

That's correct Shadow, we open with Mt. St. Mary's and we'll host NCA&T.

3 rare things, the last of which makes it imperative to get off to a good start within the league:

- All teams (except for just two - Charleston & UNCW) play two games before January (it's often none, and at most one).
- Regular season slate goes into March - 3/2 (normally done in February).
- Hofstra starts its CAA schedule with three home games.
