Another consideration is the cost of hotel rooms notice that Northeastern has not hosted many CAA tournaments. Hotels in the Boston area similar to midtown Manhattan Thst and the fact they are the northern most school in a southern conferencep

So to continue on a positive note. The softball team today destroyed Seton Hall 10-2 in five innings. Three more home runs today and another back to back sequence. I think it’s thecthird time we have done it this season. The bats are warming up. Let hope the weather does too. Our next series is with Delaware. This series could be the big ugly if we keep up our hitting

Seton Hall doesn't have a great record, but they were coming off back to back wins over Providence.

They came really close to two more home runs as well-being Sarah Edwards hit one to the warning track in right, and Kaitlyne Musa's double in the 5th hit the top rail in dead center field.

I think one of the biggest positives of this game is only 2 players were left on base. There were games with around 10 LOB earlier this season.

Just release in the college sport madness poll. Hofstra is 21st. The other two polls have Hofstra around 26th. So we are knocking on the door and have one foot in

Yeah, but that was on a line off the base of the wall. I didn't think that was out off the bat. Probably the hardest hit ball of the day, though.

If we keep winning any chance we host regional? Lacrosse quarterfinals are also that weekend which might make it tough from facilities standpoint.

It's also the same weekend as graduation. Would make it very, very difficult, as they no longer hold the ceremony at Shuart (everything is in the Arena).

We have to be ranked probably in the top 12 to host. Hard for a midmajor in the northeast to host now

It's hard, but if we win at least 2 out of 3 and the CAA Tournament at James Madison, maybe we will be chosen. In the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll, Hofstra and James Madison are the top two in Others Receiving Votes. If they keep winning, the series in two weeks could be between two ranked teams. I wonder when the last time two CAA teams played while ranked in a widely played sport (excluding both genders Lacrosse for not being widely played and excluding FCS for not being the top level).

Beat Delaware 6-0 in game 1, struggling bad in game 2. Down 3-2 in the 2nd inning, Dandola's already allowed 7 hits, while HU has only mustered up 2. Not a team we can afford to lose to, or should be struggling against, if we want to remain a lock for an at-large.

4 run 3rd inning so far for us; up 6-4 now with no outs in top of the 3rd.

Hofstra completes the sweep of the blue chickens with a 14-4 run-rule win to remain unbeaten in conference play. Got some help as well, as JM-Who lost to Charleston today.

After sweepingDelaware. We are now 28-8. Our Rpi slips to 26. JMU who lost to Cof C goes up 4 points to 29. Our Rpi will take a hit again as we play Wagner and Drexel this week

The RPI is a joke. How is JMU even that high anyway? They've played only 3 top 50 teams, we've played 8. And they've played one more sub-150 team than we have.

Hofstra's opponents have an average RPI rank of 105.1. JMU's opponents have an average RPI rank of 115.2. The NCAA doesn't provide strength of schedule values, and I'm not going to do a lot by hand, so I'm using average opponents' RPI. Hofstra's winning percentage of .777 and JMU's is .769. Therefore Hofstra having a little better RPI seems reasonable.

I'm hoping Hofstra will be ranked tomorrow. In addition to JMU's loss affecting the CAA standings, JMU was 1 spot behind Hofstra in Others Receiving Votes, so some votes could go from them to us. Ohio State was ranked 22nd and had two mercy rule losses and a canceled game at Northwestern, who is 36th in the RPI and didn't have any poll votes.
