Hofstra's first win over Penn State is a shutout. Nice way to start the season:

Up next: @ #6 Maryland Monday night.

Great road win over historically very good team. First win against Penn State for the program. Danny Elliot's goal got some attention from the NCAA, making it on their list of best goals from opening night. Check out his backflips in the video!

Glad they at least got a win, since the other 3 fall sports aren't doing so hot right now.

Very good start to a grueling four-game road trip to open the season that continues at #6 Maryland tonight followed by #13 Virginia and then St. John's. Hopefully we can fare well enough in non-conference to be considered for an at-large.

The team is receiving 10 votes in the poll this week, but that doesn't take yesterday's game into account.

Outstanding win against a very well regarded Penn State team.
Roster includes several freshmen players who are well known including Jack Nuttall, the coach's son.
It appears with forthcoming Maryland next Hofstra should acquit itself very satisfactorily when league play commences.
Go Pride!!

Haven't won a game since the season opener against Penn State, and just tied Stony Brook 1-1. Didn't necessarily expect a win against Maryland or Virginia, both St John's and Stony Brook were 2 very winnable goes, although the draw is certainly much better than a loss. The team at least scored a goal tonight, which is also something they haven't done since Penn State. Defense is overall pretty solid, but the team needs to find a way to score goals, 2 in 5 games isn't going to cut it.

Another scoreless tie. That's 2 goals in 6 games

Huge effort by the guys tonight to finally pick up a win! Oscar Ramsay scored the only goal of the game against the Blue Chickens, and it was his first career goal. Hopefully the team gained a lot of confidence and this will lead to more wins.

Men's soccer will be hosting William and Mary in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament on November 4th. Interestingly, W&M is the only conference team to beat Hofstra this season, so the team gets a nice shot at some revenge.
