Down by 4 with 8:00 minutes to go. Poor 3-pt shooting night.

Did Satkus technically get 6 fouls? He fouled out, and then got the tech foul right after.

This game literally means nothing, playing it is just a formality at this point. A win would just give us some nice momentum and confidence heading to North Charleston.

I've never heard an announcer stumble over their words or quickly have to correct themselves because they say something wrong so many times in one game as I have today with JMU's announcer.

Lackadaisical win but some momentum going into the CAA tourney.

It is so very, very hard to win on the road and we just did it twice I a row. I, for one, am pleased with that.

Good strong finish. Proud of the effort. Loved the competitiveness!

I like our draw in the tourney. If we're going to beat UNCW, Saturday's our best shot IMO.

Totally agree... Will take a "lackadaisical" win like that any day... strong finish to season... on to Charleston... Also big for Rokus to make those two free throws down the stretch... He came up big today

I would call it a good ugly win. The team wasn't hitting any threes but gutted it out to win. I don't think they have won another game like this all year. A good sign I think.
Was ready to hear the WRHU audio with the JMU video, but they were not in sync so I heard the JMU announcers...I have to say they were far more neutral than the total homers that William and Mary have. William and Mary's broadcast drove me to the Hofstra audio the other night.
BTW the JMU crew was very complimentary of the Hofstra broadcast efforts, Stephen Gorchov and even Jerry Beach! Very nice I thought!

Not expecting a miracle run, but every team has to go in thinking it can win it all, and these three things should give Hofstra as much confidence as an 8 seed could possibly have in next week's tourney:

- Finding a way to win the last game before the tourney, on the road, when Bernardi, JWF and Pemberton go a combined 3-for-25 from 3.
- Winning the final three road games before heading to Charleston.
- Knowing that although HU went 1-7 against the top four seeds, all 7 of those losses were there for the taking in the final moments.

Very excited to win today. Game doesn't mean much, but confidence is key. It shows the team that they can beat anyone. This was the teams first win AT JMU in a while. Anything can happen in a magical 4 days in Charleston.

Hofstra has won three of the last four games in which they made fewer than 20 percent of their three-pointers. Since 2005-2006, Hofstra has had three times where they went consecutive games without blocking a shot, and all of them were at the same time of year:

February 22 and 24, 2007
February 22 and 25, 2015
February 23 and 25, 2017

Statistically meaningless perhaps, but I think this was a big final regular season W for HU. Great way to end things going into the CAAT. HU has shown they can play with the top teams, just need that extra something to get over the top.

JWF is becoming a man right before our eyes - if Gustys can stay healthy, and Pemba and Powers can offer that 2nd and 3rd scoring punch, this team can be dangerous in bursts - just need those bursts to line up this coming weekend!

I think this is exactly how all would hope they would go into the tourney, playing well and winning. They are still missing some pieces, there is no question - the CAAT will be a battle, but HU does have the ability to win some...

Looks like a major battle with the W looms if HU can take care of biz on Friday against a scrappy UD. No game will be easy, but some other CAA folks think this is the year a Friday team does damage, and HU has as much talent as any of them.

I won't be able to do anything Friday, but I'm down for a Saturday viewing party for a battle with #1

Tough to beat the same team 3 times... if HU can get to Sat, they could give the W a big time game. We'll see...

When this team is going "GOOD" they have shown they can play with anyone in CAA. Question is can they sustain the "GOOD" 4 games in a row...it is gonna be tough

Huge roadblock in UNCW Sat if we beat Delaware on Friday....win that game and it is a successful season in my book

Tough not even the word, it's basically the next closest thing to impossible while holding a sliver of a chance :D

Never been done before. So on one hand it really stinks to know that and face that mountain... on the other, whoever does accomplish the feat one day will be history makers - because as almost impossible as it is, ONE DAY a team will do it. Just a matter of time.

Not sure that team is HU this year, but they have at least a chance due to talent. The lack of bench production will be their downfall because a starting 5 alone simply cannot sustain the required high-level of play for 4 games in 4 straight days. You must have some bench guys who can step up and win 1 of those games for you.

But boy wouldn't that be something amazing to see HU take down the top dogs and be the first to accomplish that??? Wow.

Realistically, I am with HUSID, if HU can somehow win 2 and get to Sunday that would have to be considered a successful end to this season IMO. A Monday appearance would be HUGE. An NCAAT berth would be a program defining moment, considering their current position.

Completely agree with both of you. 1 win is a must and 2 wins makes the seasons. Anything more is just gravy.

4 games in 4 days.in 2006, History says that Syracuse was a nine seed in the Big East Championship. (Uconn, Marquette, Nova, and West Va. had byes... thus they would only need 3 games to win)
Round 1 Syracuse 74-73 over Cincy. Rd. 2 Syracuse 86-84 over UConn. Rd. 3 Syracuse 58-57 over Georgetown.
In the Finals Syracuse "crushes" Pitt 65-61. (Pitt also had the extra game)
Perhaps we can channel the famous 'Cuse zone and do something like it in Charleston this weekend. Sweet!

Let me be the voice of reason here. We would have to be on our A game for three of those four games let's look at out last game. We barely beat a JMU team that has won only 9 games all year Yes it was a road game. It is no secret that to beat our zone you can exploit it by placing an average shooter 10 to 15 from the basket in the high post. Even when we go to man teams will drive to the basket to take Rokus and Hunter out of the game. We need to have JWF Pemba andBernardi shooting well for those three games in a row. Can it be done yes but it's a long shot
