Injuries and illness have a way of diminishing performance. Thomas stepped up big time. Estrada was big time even at half speed even when double teamed.
I see that HU is after a guard from UMKc. Big 6’4” guard with a body like Amare Marshall and an all league defender in his conference. Shemerri Allen.Stat stuffer who plays D.

Thomas is the money player.

Thomas was absolutely a stud down the stretch. You need a Pippen to a Jordan, who’s gonna be who this season? Can’t wait to find out. TT has all the makings of being THAT player we need. Kudos to Speedy for retaining him in this age of INL.

I also remember the offense being stuck in the mud for weeks without Estrada after he got hurt in the Mason game. Thomas is a great rhythm shooter but not really a playmaker and can force shots at times. The offense ran through Estrada, that's more of a worry to me than just replacing his scoring.

some video of Shemarri Allen. Looks like an athletic hard-nosed guard.
Second team all Horizon league - first team all defensive.

Lots of competition for Allen, including Charleston.

Tanner Thomas withdrew from the portal and went back to Sacred Heart, guess more playing time outweighed playing with his brother. Also, I know Hofstra didn't seem to be in on Sean Durugordon this time around but found it interesting he wound up committing to Sienna... seems like hofstra could have had a shot then if they wanted him.

Wilmoth's role continues to be the biggest x-factor for me, if he is starting then I think roster really is just about done.

My guess Fritz will be the starting center, with Dubar, Plotnikov, Carlos and Taylor. Farmer, Sunday, Washington, Wilmoth off the bench

Thankfully he's retaining college eligibility so probably more likely than not he still returns, but obviously the expectations and goals for next season change drastically if we lose him.

This news likely explains why Hofstra's shown some late interest in some guards though.

Kids do this all the time for exposure and to learn what they need to do to improve. Jenkins and Foreman did the same.

A little more info about Jacco:

I'm not sure, but he may be our first-ever Dutch player.

One of the several legends of how the Flying Dutchmen got their name was that a Dutch student tripped during a basketball game and went flying, prompting someone to exclaim "Look at that Flying Dutchman". I think it may have been during a PE class rather than an intercollegiate game, however. The memory is a little fuzzy after nearly 40 years!

Was very disappointed when Green left. Thought he had a big upside.

Yet when you look at his numbers 2 years ago he played 16 minutes a game and averaged 7 points. Shot 35% from three. Last year he must have been hurt as he only played in 6 games started 2 averaging 6.5 points a game. He was a decent player but liked Cramer's overall game much more.
