Kudos to this team for being recognized for great play of course Estrada award everyone knew was coming and congrats to Thomas making 2nd team. Also well deserved for Coach Speedy who had to beat out COC coach but the real surprise for me was Carlos. Who would have thought he could get this award. We saw him get benched for not being able to guard his man usually bigger but there are people that like what he brings defensively. All and all congrats to everyone.

Here's the full list of all awards:

Estrada's award was via a unanimous vote. Even though he didn't quite finish first in scoring, there wasn't a single voter who didn't recognize all Estrada does for the top seed in the league otherwise.

All well deserved! It is always nice to get validation from your peers. Now, onto three more wins, but as Coach Speedy would say, "Focus on the next one!"

Knew I should have trusted my gut on over-rating Policelli, almost nailed it otherwise. Lol
Didn't realize it was only the 13 coaches voting and not like CAA big wigs too. Speedy beating out Kelsey really speaks to the respect of his peers then. Wonder if Kelsey's let's call it "enthusiasm" wears on some of the other coaches.

Speaking of Carlos, Jaquan and Hofstra are the face of the CAAT:

Late but was away, congrats to Speedy, AE, TT, and JC!! Fantastic to see this group awarded! They have clearly worked tremendously hard to turn this into a special season.
And once again shows that HU has the best talent in the league, with also the best coaching in the league, and therefore should absolutely be expected and held to the standard of going to the NCAAT.
Go make it so fellas.

Estrada made the All-Tournament team.
Joining him were White & Newby from UNCW, Timberlake from Towson, and Brzovic from Charleston. Larson from Charleston was the MOP.

I would have put Carlos on the team instead of Estrada. I think he upped his game more.

Estrada is a finalist for the Lou Henson award, which goes to the best mid-major player. Two Charleston players are also on the list:

Fully agree on Carlos. That young man played his butt off the entire game. Left it all out there and was visibly the hardest working player by far in that game. He really stepped up and showed me something on a big stage. He's got to continue to develop his overall game, but still believe he's a star in the making... future is in his hands, and I believe this program the next 2 years as well. Staff needs to continue to surround him with some talent and let him go to work.
