Usually, when someone "transitions" to a new role in an organization, it's not necessarily good news. But in this case, I think it is.
Dennis Papadatos, our head wrestling coach for the past 10 years, has joined Hofstra's athletic administrative office as "assistant director of athletics for athletic development and strategic partnerships." That's a mouthful, but it sounds like he will be responsible for bringing money into the athletic department.
Question: I wonder if he will focus on NIL development as part of his new job?
At any rate, congratulations and good luck to Coach Papadatos in this next stage of his Hofstra career. I don't know that any of our current athletic administrators have head coaching experience. His perspective could be a plus.
