Sorry BU in the patriot is blocking NU from from joining the Patriot
Re: Farewell Delaware
So hows this for a big dream - HU joining the Big East!
Certainly basketball focused (in fact the current BE membership was established with most football schools moving to the AAC).
Most sports at HU are played in the BE.
Religous affiliations should not be an issue (Uconn and Butler).
Mack is a good as some other arenas (Seton Hall and StJ) with Nassau Col and/or UBS next door for a bigger venue (as needed).
Acedemics (especially with Med and lawschools) would fit with many BE schools.
Travel to some schools might be expensive, but I cant imagine basketball revenue would not make up for that extra cost.
Dont know about buy in - any ideas about how much (1-5 mil??)
Would StJ or Seton Hall nix the idea?
It would not take long (given the conf upgrade and portal) to recruit top players. In soccer, we are already there.
Crazy idea?? Thoughts?

We had our chances when the Big East was being formed...there were some very preliminary talks...however our AD at the time wanted to protect HIS wrestling program!!!!!
