NCAA Banner for 2019-2020

Stu - Are you serious? Because its not about the kids, the sport, or most of the schools, its about how much money the NCAA can rake in for its overpaid executives.

The NCAA is a joke I wonder if they somehow get money under the table from all the P5 conferences. It has always been the have and have nots. When I finally get to talk to Rick Cole next week I'll see why there's no banner hanging in the Mack then we can plead our case to placate everyone.

I remain very depressed about how the 2019/2020 team and us as fans were denied chance to see their names on selection Sunday and a chance to take part in March Madness. I agree though there should be some kind of banner if possible for this team and perhaps is a creative way to do it without saying ncaa tournament. Next season will mark five year anniversary of that team so perhaps could plan something around that.

I was thinking, if the NCAA prevents the 2020 banner, how about putting the team in the HU Athletics Hall of Fame? HU could put up a banner for the various teams that have been honored with an HU HOF designation. This might be a solution.

I like that idea, although are many older teams that also deserve to be in hall of fame across multiple sports including 1977 and 2001 mbb ncaa tourney teams. Given the lousy luck of 19-20 team though I don’t think anyone would argue either them getting into hall of fame before others though.

I like all the "food for thought ideas" guys and there has to be a solution to this egregious omission. Like has been said here we won the CAA tourney a tough enough feat and punched our ticket. We rightfully deserve to have a banner or facsimile reflecting that in the MACK. This shouldn't be debatable!

There is a banner reflecting the CAA championship with the other conference title Hofstra has won, but agreed given unique nature of what happened to this team there should be something more.

It could always read NCAA Tournament Qualifier and we did QUALIFY...can't be any rules against that!

I like HUSID80's idea to say "Qualifier" on it. Unless the NCAA imposed sanctions against your team, you are eligible even if you didn't win a game.

We'll present the qualifier idea to Rick Cole on Thursday at the men's game and I'll see what he says about that idea. I like that!!

OK finally got to talk to Rick Cole at the game last night in the PRIDE LOUNGE. A very nice man and I was officially meeting him for the first time. Rick says he's in agreement that the 2020 team needs some serious recognition in the Mack. He told me that the way the banners are set up there's no room to get additional banners but they're in discussions to get the problem resolved an get an NCAA type banner for 2020. It may be worded as CAA champion and NCAA qualifier. I guess this is in discussion. I mentioned also that in the basement that team also should be recognized with a display including a tribute to Coach Mihalich and photo's of our win over UCLA at Pauley Pavillion. A huge accomplishment for this program. In conclusion I also said we should retire JWF #3 not knowing he was in the building. I said maybe the best player to ever play for us. He said what about the kid at the end of the bench I'm assuming a reference to Tyler. So it looks like although a bit late our NCAA team of 2020 will get their just recognition finally here.

I'll f/u with him without being a pain in the ass just to see what progress is being made. It's crazy that we recognize a lot of the teams of the past which deserve the recognition but years later we don't have any pictures of us beating UCLA or cutting down the nets after beating NE and punching our ticket. I'm believing from what I've been told that this is NOW A WORK IN PROGRESS and we'll see it thru to fruition.... SOON!!
