With a 1-0 win hosting Delaware and Towson's 1-0 loss at Northeastern, we moved up to first with 25 points from 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie (soccer normally calls them "draws," but the NCAA calls them "ties"). Towson and Monmouth have 23 points. We have two games left, which are our hardest at Monmouth and Towson. Winning both gives the 1 seed. Assuming the tiebreaker is the same as basketball where it is record against the next best team or teams, and assuming fifth place W&M does not pass Northeastern and Towson or Monmouth, a win and a tie would give us the 1 seed on points or from a tiebreaker.

In most of the world, college sports don't exist or aren't cared about. If somebody graduates from college at age 22 after four years of NCAA soccer in either gender, he or she will be behind in development compared to most of the world where you can be a pro before turning turning 18.

Listening to Coach Simon after the game he had nothing but praise for his Defense I believe using words like phenomenal the way they're playing and feels like this team is getting ready to be a very tough playoff team.

This was supposed to be a down year for us
Somehow Simon has this team playing a different type of game since he doesnt have the offensive power he had when Sabrina Bryan and Lucy Porter and Lucy Sheppard were here

Just like last year was a rebuilding year. Simon knows what he's doing and he has these kids poised to win this league. IDK much about soccer but I know he's starting to see the returns on Millie Davies which he had predicted greatness for her. Fronc playing well and the kids from Iceland. He's starting to mix in some of the younger players like Hodgson and McTiffin . Hodgson got the CAA offensive player of the week award. They may not score a lot but they don't give up much either with Kuzmich back in goal.

Up 1-0 against Monmouth on the road at the half. Goal by Millie Davies who has played really well this year. Incredible kick against the wind.

Second goal by Thorhallsdottir in the second half and we win this game 2-0. Just an outstanding effort by the D applying non stop pressure all game. We get a bit closer now to winning this conference.

We had more shots 11 to 9 and more shots on goal 5 to 4. Towson won 3-0, so they remain 2 points behind us. We win the regular season title with a win or tie at Towson, and Towson wins it with a win. Hampton fell to 0-17 with a 9-1 loss at Delaware.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU0gs3WyrUo shows our two goals and Kuzmich saving a penalty kick with 3:52 left.

After having eight teams last year when we won it as the 8 seed, the CAA Tournament went down to 6. In the 3 vs. 6 game at us, Monmouth defeated Stony Brook 3-0. We host Monmouth in a Semifinal on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. The New York area will have two games between two area teams at the same time, with much more people watching the Giants play the Jets.

Edit: William & Mary defeated Northeastern in a seven round shootout after the game was 1-1 and nobody scored in 20 minutes of extra time. Both teams scored on their first six kicks. Then William & Mary made a save, and their sub goalkeeper scored that Northeastern's goalkeeper touched but could not save. In pro soccer, the penalty kicks can only be taken by players who were on the field when clock time ended, but apparently the NCAA lets players come off the bench to take penalty kicks. The bad news is that the only way we host the CAA Final is if Towson on six days rest loses hosting William & Mary on two days rest after extra time and penalty kicks.

We won on the road last year as an 8 seed isn't that true. I never bet against Simon he has been there and done that but need only to focus on the game at hand. One game at a time.

At halftime, we lead 1-0. We have 2 shots on goal to Monmouth's 0. To host the Final, we need William & Mary to win at Towson. At halftime, Towson is dominating shots 9 to 1. Towson has the only shot on goal, which was saved, and it is 0-0.

Edit: Monmouth scored at 75:05 (14:55 left) and 107:15 (2:45 left in the second overtime) to win 2-1. They will play the Final at 1 seed Towson, who won 1-0 hosting William & Mary.

Simon can only pull so many rabbits out of his hat and I suppose in this game he ran out of rabbits.

Disappointed, but perhaps I shouldn't be?? Stu you did mention this was supposed to be a rebuild year, how do we view this season? Was this a strong showing or a letdown? Is this a young group that returns a lot to go on a big run next season?

Stinks to have had the lead at half and go down, would've been great to get to the champ game.

Teams weakness was lack of scoring
We never had the scoring threats playmakers or finishers teams of the past has had. There were no Sabrina Bryan or Lucy Porters on this team

We were playing at a high level but it's almost NEVER a rebuild year as long as Simon is at the helm. Certainly could have been on the winning end of this game. The nature of sports.
