Women's basketball Final 3/12
So 7th seeded Monmouth new to the conference comes into the championship game with a 9-9 record and blows out the #1 SEED Towson 80-55 who was 13-5 and actually lost to us.We were tough both games against Monmouth losing one by 4 and the other by two. It proves on a given night anything can happen. I wonder if a 7th seed ever won the conference Championship? Maybe!!

What was more impressive about mammoths win was the tournament was played at Towson University

Sometimes I text with my voice with the microphone on I’m saying it right. The microphone is getting it wrong.

How shocking for a 7 seed to win 4 in 4 (first time ever apparently). To think it was to a team Hofstra played well against too. Monmouth knocked out the 1, 2 and 3 seeds. They earned it in gthe tournament.
I think i saw Towson and Drexel are getting WNIT invites last night, but didnt have details yet.

Pride thanks for reminding me about the 4th game wasn't even thinking about that and Towson had just got done dismantling W&M.Pride97 wrote:How shocking for a 7 seed to win 4 in 4 (first time ever apparently). I was just curious has anyone who follows this sport and I don't know how many that's hear anything about any players we have picked up??
Re: Women's basketball Final 3/12
I haven’t seen anything. I think everyone who was eligible to come back is coming back (but I don’t know that for sure) so I think that’s 3 spots to fill then? (Thomas, Rosi, Peacock)

Thanks Pride I saw a lot of this team at the softball playoffs and they actually sat near me but I never did get into a conversation with any of them. I thought about it though!

I really don't know who has left and who's returning. Thomas has no eligibility left and was our best all around player. We don't know the status of either Nicholson or Ineza. I saw both of them at the softball playoff games. I wish for just the people following this program they would release some info. on what's going on re our roster. That much would be nice.Pride97 wrote:I haven’t seen anything. I think everyone who was eligible to come back is coming back (but I don’t know that for sure) so I think that’s 3 spots to fill then? I’m almost positive Ineza is coming back from things I’ve read on social media.
I thought Nicholson was out of eligibility but maybe I’m wrong. My understanding is everyone who had eligibility is coming back, but I don’t have that as 100% definite.
You are right - would be great to get news for those of us that follow the program.

Re: Women's basketball Final 3/12
We just hired Jessica Bogia as our recruiting coordinator. She comes with plenty of experience and was formally at Jacksonville. She was also an assistant coach at the University of Memphis. So considering that I haven't read of us getting one recruit this sounds like a move that's desperately needed here. Fingers crossed hoping we pick up a couple of good players to compliment the kids that are coming back.

Re: Women's basketball Final 3/12
If I wait long enough I can answer my own questions. The 2023-24 roster is up on gohofstra and we picked up 4 new players. Looks like 3 transfers from JUCO's and one freshman. We lose Rosi, Brandy Thomas, Jada Peacock and Ross-Barnes. We again should be competitive in this league with both Ineza and Emma back Swint and Knights.
Re: Women's basketball Final 3/12
Intersting. Ross-Barnes is a surprise loss. Thought she showed good potential in limited time last season.
